In jan 2017 I went in person into your highbury pool & gym to enquire about monthly membership.
I spoke (In person) to a member of their sales team and asked how much per month I would pay. They said there is a january sale and the fee would be £35.45. I asked if this would be recurring per month and they confirmed 'yes'.
The sales person filled in the direct debit mandate adding only the £35.40 fee on the direct debit mandate and membership paperwork. I believed the monthly fee would be £35.40.In fact, the actual monthly recurring fee was in fact £49.95 and I believe the sales rep purposely mis-sold this membership in order to get the sale.
When I phoned head office, they were rude, arrogant and patronising. They said it was a mistake and that there was nothing they could do. I had to cancel the membership in order to get a refund.
The gym manager also said it was a mistake and their error, brushing off this incident as a common mistake and he would speak to the sales rep.
This company is unprofessional and have a bad selling practice. I would avoid using this company.
