Have only had the Euro Pro Steam Cleaner one year and this week it suddenly stopped working. It should last longer than this. Has not been used more than five or six times. What are we supposed to do now. It should be replaced at no cost to us. Model s3101. Not worth the money we paid for it.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I just took mine out to use and it doesn't work at all. I've had it for about 4 years, but only used it about 6 times. So disappointed!
My steamer also stopped giving out steam! I only used mine 5 times. I am so disappointed...
My daughter bought me a handheld steamer for Christmas one year. I loved it! I used it for six years and it finally stopped working this year. I just read online that if it stops steaming, you can pour straight vinegar into the steamer, allow it to sit for a while and then try pressing the steam button. I'm going to try it, but even if it doesn't work, six years of using this product regularly is great. When I first got the steamer, it was missing a part. I called the customer service number and immediately had the part shipped to me. I have no complaints about the Shark product I have used or the Euro Pro customer service. I do have a friend who purchased a Shark vacuum cleaner and her vacuum clogged. It was a real pain in the rear to remove the clog! I wanted to buy a vacuum from Euro Pro but after seeing the problems she had with hers, I have thought twice about it. Although she has a house full of kitties and they shed horribly...she also doesn't vacuum often. She is also an artist who works at home. She has plenty of debris on the carpet from her work. She vacuumed all of this up without picking up the carpet first. Makes sense as to why the vacuum was clogged...though I'm not sure I want to deal with the clogging issue in a vacuum. I have no patience for this type of problem while trying to clean my home.
While at a friends house today, she was showing me her shark handheld steamer and telling me how wonderful this steamer was. (She has had it appx 2 yrs) She plugged it in, waited about 45 seconds, then went to pull the trigger mechanism, after the second squeeze, the device blew up in her hand with a loud pop! She now has burns across 4 of her fingers, with the pointer finger bordering on 2nd degree burns. I unplugged the unit and tended to her burns. After about half an hour, I went to take the device to her husband, and was shocked to find that the plastic was still extremely hot. After the initial shock, we decided to see if anyone else has had this happen, I am appalled at what I have found! Needless to say, I will NEVER own a Shark product after what happened and the things I have read here. I still do not understand how this product is still on the market after reading numerous instances where the product has literally exploded!
I just had the same issue of heating but great lack of steam. I thought my previous two H20 mops were terrible but they at least cleaned better when working and lasted longer. This Shark mop was garbage from the day I bought it, I should have returned it to Crappy Tire. I just decided to try it again and it won't blow enough steam. Only use distilled water, empty it after every use and remove the mop head...big deal, it still stopped working. Back to the old fashioned mop now. I have bought my last steam mop.
I had the machine less than a year!
This is the THIRD Shark EuroPro I have had in the last 4 years. Today, after telling the Customer Service Rep of my disappointment in the product and the money spent on replacements the only thing offered to me was free S&H on an upgraded machine that would cost me $65.00. I don't think that after having to replace three machines that I should have to go out and spend money on a new machine. Needless to say, I am not taking that offer and am not going to buy another Shark steamer. Maybe they should go back to the drawing table and come up with a machine that doesn't poop out after using it for a short period of time. Until they do that I am not purchasing another Shark Steamer.
I bought a Shark vacuum/steamer last Christmas for myself. I worked wonderful! Now today, the steamer has given out after 1 yr and 1 month. Sorry out of warranty!. Will not buy another one.

"FOUND IT TO BE A PAIN IN THE NECK HAVING TO WASH STEAMER CLOTH AFTER EVERY USE ALONG WITH THE SEPARATE VACUUMING. "
This is the problem with the world today. We are too used to everything being disposable. Look at our landfills and our oceans.
In any case, this product stopped releasing steam out of the bottom after 3 years of use. Not bad considering everyone else has been complaining about this occuring after only 1 year. It seems clogged. And so yet another piece of man-made garbage will end up in our world's landfills.
I paid well over $100 for the S3501. Used a couple of times a month for over a year. Then it started to overheat and leak. I tried to fix via youtube videos. No luck. Waste of money. Great concept. C****y item.
S3501 was to the model I bought at Kohls. It last a little over one year then leaked and overheated...I paid about $150 at Kohls but it is passed the warranty period. I loved the idea, but who wants to spend $150. a year for a MOP!
My Shark Steam Mop just went out and I just used it last week. I'm highly disappointed because the advertise with such high ratings and this product is ultimately a POS. It just stopped steaming. Tried running vinegar and water through it thinking that might help. Nope, sadly it didn't. I see that everyone else on here is in the same boat I am. I bought it from WalMart on the BlackFriday 2012 sale. It didn't even last a year. never buying a shark product again.
How is Shark still in business? These products are "disposable" at best. I have purchased two... both died within months. I'm "IN" for a class-action lawsuit.
The Shark Steam mop is dangerous! First one, didn't even get 2 years out of it. I went and bought another (dumb idea), after about 10 uses, it exploded and even tripped my circuit breaker! Luckily, no one was injured when it blew. I will never purchase anything made by Shark.
steam pocket deluxe mop stopped working right after the warranty ran out, of course. it just burned up, almost caught on fire and water started running everywhere, not a good mix while plugged in! didn't really get anything that clean either - running a swiffer over the floors after using the shark pulled up a lot more dirt. the pads wore out after a few uses as well. do not buy this product - far too expensive for an inferior item.
I had my Shark vac steam mop for only a few months when all of a sudden it stopped making steam today. I only use it in two rooms once or twice a week and so it doesnt get heavy use. Am very disappointed. This steam was more expensive than my older steam mop which lasted over three years. Will never use a Shark Steam mop again and will go to BBY today and get another steam mop (not by Shark) and will have no oroblem letting other customers know that Shark means crap.

I purchased the Shark steam mop from Homedepot. For the money spent, this product should have lasted more than about a dozen time used. Cheap crap and garbage!
My MV2010C0 Shark Vac-Then-Steam, like other models described, "blew up" 15 months after purchase and only limited use. I wish I had known about the clogged steam head problem or had been advised to do some type of preventive maintenance by SHARK. A product should last much longer and the company should compensate in some way. I will be looking for another steam mop(not SHARK) and doing more research before hand.
The problem is the hose delivering the steam to the head gets clogged. This causes a back up of steam in the canister and the machines "blow up". I take the head off and stick a wire into the hose up into the canister to make sure it is not clogged before I turned it on. I've had this same problem with all steam type cleaning machines I've ever owned.
Mine just died! I've had it for just over 2 years. LOVED it. It cleaned up the built up dirt on my vinyl floors and has been wonderful on my new wood floor since it left almost no water behind. So easy, no wringing or dripping mops. But it just exploded. The little tube that carries the water to the mop head came loose and water and steam is now coming out everywhere except the mop head. The whole water holding area is very hot and it smells like electrical fire. I can guess that the warranty is up, no guarantees, etc. Should I even bother? Probably not.
Now, what do I replace it with? Hardwood floors everywhere. After reading everything, I'm thinking I'll stay away from Shark products.
I recieved a shark steam vac as a present about a year ago. And all of the sudden it stopped steaming. The vac still works but no steam. So now what the hell do I do with it. I guess i'm the proud owner of a useless vac. nice! I'm starting to think that they built this damn thing with some kind of shut off valve inside it. That turns off after a year, cause that seems when it stops working for everyone. What junk don't buy it.
I live in Australia and my SHARK Steam duck cleaner has never blown steam, even though I have had promises from the company to replace it, that has never eventuated. I have never received a refund. What an absolute waste of money.
SUCKS! SUCKS! SUCKS! I just start leaking, Didn't even last a year!
Mine also stopped working after a few times. I have the S3501 and cannot get my money back either. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SHARK PRODUCT. This was over $100.00 and UPS charges so much to ship back.
I am very dissapointed in this product and the company
Have used my Shark euro Pro once per week for the past month and all of a sudden it is not working--it made a really hot smell while I was using it on baseboards and window sills, I let it cool off to add water, turned it back on to do the floors and it stopped working! I am not a happy camper especially after reading all of the previous posts--i paid $200 for this at wal mart, I paid $40 for my vacuum at wal mart and I use it 3 times a day 7 days a week for my Bissel--better bang for my buck--this sucks!
I have had my Shark steamer canister and absolutly loved it til it stopped working--I have had it a couple of years, used it minimal and now I have been using it once a week for the past month and wouldn't you know it it stopped working like all the other folks posted! I am angry to say the least--i use my vacuum 3 times per day 7 days per week and it works fine great deal for 40 bucks ---$200 on the Shark is really making me angry!
I bought shark steam mop almost a year ago and it just stopped working. I was cleaning the floor and the pumping action of the handle didn't feel quite right. I let it sit for a few minutes and then tried again when it exploded hot water and steam everywhere. The water and steam exploded from the cannister and now that's where the steam is coming from rather than the mop itself. Maybe the steam holes were clogged so the steam had nowhere to go but it was working fine at first and then just stopped and exploded. I was lucky not to be too close to it and that no one in my family was around at the time. After reading all the above complaints I know I'll probably never see a dime but I certainly won't buy a shark again. I'll have my handy husband take it apart and see what's what but now I'm nervous to use it again.
I think they should take the Shark Steam Mop off the market. Mine stopped working all of a sudden. I had it only a year. My sister-in-law's also stopped working. What a rip off!
I bought a Shark Steam Mop about a year ago and all of a sudden it stopped steaming. It is a real rip off. Do Not Buy!
I own a shark steam mop and have had the same problem with it just stop working. I have found that some of the plastic melts and clogs the flex hose that funnels the steam to mop head. It is easy to remove and clean but you have to do it about every 20 mins or so.
Wow! Same thing here. Worked for about a year, and then all of the sudden the thing went "poof" and steam started shooting out of the side. It hasnt worked since :(
I have had my SHARK steamer for almost 2 years and was pleasantly surprised that it was still working since all other SHARK products suck big time. Well its just STOPPED for no reason at all. I had called SHARK for my cordless vacuum once and got help line in INDIA so you know what that means, there is no help there. What the guy suggested I do was ridiculus, so I just trashed it. Now the steamer, and I don't even know if I should call the support or jus trash it. I was hoping to find some answer here.
The Shark Steam Mop SUCKS! ...and definitely with all capital letters! I've had the mop for approximately 10 months. Suddenly, yesterday, I was cleaning my kitchen floors and the steam stopped producing. I unplugged it to check out the problem. When I pressed the button to release the lower attachment, it came flying off with SCORTCHING steam following behind. My fingers were badly burned (making me drop the entire mop with steam blowing out all over my kitchen). Once the steamed stopped, I was able to find out the problem ( why it stopped steaming and why so much steam was built-up inside of the nozzle). It was because the cheap plastic melted from the HOT steam and closed the holes completely. Therefore, when I hit the release button, all the built-up steam not only made the lower attachment fly off but burned my fingers so bad that, today, I have small blisters between my fingers. DO NOT purchase this product. If anyone knows any good lawyers that will take a case against SHARK, I am planning to file a lawsuit. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
my steam shark also stopped steaming wasn't that impressed with it when it did work it took lots of effort just to push the mop and get enough steam to clean with
Thought same thing, intermitent working after one year, called factory and they had me send jsut the "plug" in. Within 2 week's new shark received and working, for how long? I cannot complain with that.

I have had mine for 6 months and use it every week. No problems. My daughter has had one for 7 months and loves it. It cleans well and is easy to use. **Please note...You MUST use Distilled Water ONLY!
I cannot stress this enough. Bottled drinking water, tap water, and filtered water will cause problems with the machine. You must also REMOVE the mop head after each use, so the steam holes can properly vent and dry out. If you don't ...residue will clog the vents.
Shark lover in Florida
Nancy, that is exactly what my Shark did, it got hot and one shot of steam than no steam but it felt hot.
My first Shark steam mop died after a year but I loved it when it worked so I thought I might have gotten a lemon...well, now my second one has stopped steaming. It gets hot but no steam is released. It is however, dripping water from somewhere. After reading all of the comments, I agree, no more Shark products.
I agree with all the complaints. Took my Shark Steamer out of closet and does not work. Trash man will get it on Thursday. I won't spend money to ship it any place to be fixed and their customer service sucks.
My steamer has just stooped steaming after a year, sadely if this was a British company I would be reporting them to trading standards but alas it is American. One lesson to be learnt here do not buy there products. They are not worth the money you pay for them. I will contact the TV channels in the UK selling these products voicing my conserns about safety and value for money.
