This company left a note and water sample bottle on our mailbox with an offer for free water test. We followed the instructions and sent in a sample. The information on the note indicated that the test results would be reported to us, and a sales offer presented.
When we made an appointment, we were told that the test results would be provided, and the appointment would take about 30 min. After the first appointment was missed, we rescheduled and verified that the test results would be provided with a 30 min sales presentation. When the rep arrived, he told us he did not know what the company did with the water samples supplied, and that he would need to do a sample test to determine the water quality. He also told us that one part of the test would take 30 min alone. We explained to the rep what we had been told, but he was unable to provide any explanation. The rep was very up front about what he would need to go thru for testing and how the sales pitch would be presented. We declined to continue after 40 minutes or reschedule. The rep was friendly, honest, and above board with everything he said and did. The "home office" lied to us about what services they would provide, and the amount of time needed for the appointment - twice (maybe 3 times if you include the note). I am sure there is weasel wording that can be placed around providing "a" test sample result during the appointment, vs. providing the results of the sample provided earlier - but it is unprofessional and misleading at best. Bad business in any case.

I had the same thing happen recently with this company. A water bottle was left on our mailbox with a form and would receive the sample results. The rep came to the house and my wife and I have been wanting to get a whole house water filtration system anyway so I wanted to speak with him. I have done a lot of my own research before hand about water filtration systems and pretty much had my mind made up on what I wanted. Anyway the rep refused to test my water because my wife wasn't able to see his presentation. She just had a baby and was taking care of him in the other room. She did not want to have company but I was interested in the information. So he left without doing a test and told me to reschedule. I called and said I want a different rep and told them what happened. They responded "This is our companies police, the spouse has to be present". When I asked why she gave me one excuse then when I talked to her a few weeks later to confirm an appointment I said my wife will not be available and she wouldn't send the rep. I again asked why and she lied and gave me another excuse. I did everything I could to get her to tell me "because it's a sales pitch and it's easier to sell if we convince your wife" She actually told me "because if we send a female rep to your house it's not safe for them and we want to make sure a woman is there..." I was insulted by the insinuation and told her but that doesn't make sense because the last rep that refused to test my water was a man... She said "well that's our companies policy" I asked again "what is the reason for that policy, because the one you gave me doesn't make sense." She beat around the bush and I canceled all together. After reading this list of complaints I think it was a blessing in disguise.

Do not let this company in your home. I made the mistake of allowing the salewoman in my home to listen the sales pitch. The sales woman wore her high heel shoes into my home damaging my brand new hard wood floors. Leaving multiple dents from the entryway to the kitchen. I contacted the business and they blamed me allowing her to wear her shoes in my house and still wont take responsibility to correct the damages. This company operates with no integrity and with no ethics. They are for their own financial gain. Save your time and money and avoid damages to your home and go with another company that is reputable.

Environmental Progress Inc. is a rip off! They missed the first appointment time. When the rep finally did show up he was 45 minutes late! He said that the test would take 45 minutes to complete and he was there for OVER AN HOUR! He made a mess in our kitchen. The unit he wanted to sell was about $8000! We told him about 20 minutes in that we would not buy anything you would think that he would have stopped, but NOT AT ALL. Then before he left he had to call the office to let them know that he was actually in our home and the woman started asking more ridiculous questions. I thought something may have been really wrong with the water and it turned out that EPI is no more than a over priced salesman. None of the experiments worked out. He said that they test in the home to get a base line, but wouldn't that be an average over a period of time and not just 2 random test that were days apart?! The sales reps need to be taught the gift of discernment. To know when to call it quits. Then he talked to us as if we didn't understand anything. I majored in Environmental Science, unknown to him, and just wanted the real raw facts NOT A SALES PITCH!

I completely agree. Count your self LUCKY you did not fall for their $7, 000 scam. I DID! What they are selling is an overpriced (300% markup) WATER SOFTNER for people on well water. They claim it's a water filter, but it's not. GOOD FOR YOU for not falling for their scam. They are a totally unethical company. They will record EVERY phone call you have with them. I learned of this after filing a complaint against them, and having them repeat in verbatim (in writing) what was said during our phone calls with them. Also, those soaps they give you for free, COMPLETELY SUCK! We gave most of them away, they were so awful.
