A $300.00 deposit was given in good faith to buy a Liver Parti T-cup Schnauzer back in March of 09. Shortly after Crystal Costopoulos recieved my deposit she e-mailed me and told me my puppy had died. At this time she offered my money back but asked if I would wait til more puppies were born and maybe she would have a t-cup for me. I agreed but reserved the right to my refund. She agreed by e-mail. 6 months went by and only 4 puppies were offered to me. one 6 months old with a higher price, and 3 others that were not t-cups. I e-mailed her and asked for my money back. She agreed. She then sent a check for $100.00. She explained she needed to sell another dog in order for me to get the rest. One month later I e-mailed her and stated I had been more than patient and wanted the rest of my money $200.00 back now. She told me she would send another check right away. When I recieved the next check it was only for another $100.00, with a note stating she wasn't giving the rest back and changed her website to say this over 6 months later. I am now out of $100.00 and I still have no puppy from her. What recourse do I have. She should not be able to have her website on google if she is ripping off people of money. She did not follow what she said she would do and other people need to know this before they do business with her. Her reply to me was "do what you can, you can't touch me, Try to get the rest of the money out of me, you are in Kansas and I am in Colorado! Good Luck!" I feel she has done this before to others and she needs to either give me back my last $100.00 or not be allowed to advertise on Google. Apparently she is running a rippoff scam.

You all need to contact the State of Colorado. Get this Puppy Mill shut down. She has Around 50 breeding dogs. Sickly pups. The kennels are in a metal shop. Crystal brags about the air/heat and how the kennels are made. She claims she loves her dogs but she loves the money she makes off them. Her Vet should be ashamed of their self being a part of this Puppy factory!

If you look at the breed standard there is no such thing (or shouldn't be) as "teacup", toy, or parti-colored schnauzers. You can't expect quality when you are simply purchasing an ill-bred "designer" dog from a byb miller who profits by using inferior (runt) dogs in non-breed recognized colors. Go to a good breeder who breeds either for conformation or working ability. Make sure to view the parents, at the very least the dam and ensure the parents are health cleared for hips, eyes and thyroid, interact with the dam to know her temperament as she's the one who raises the pups initially. Look at the breeders record, do they have titles, (not just in the show ring) but also for Obedience, Agility, Flyball or Therapy. Please, please, please do your homework and buy from a decent breeder who makes you jump through hoops to prove that you will be a good home for one of their puppies. I do rescue work and it saddens me that these unscrupulous breeders charge exhorbinant amounts for dogs that don't come close to the breed standard.

Crystal tends make her own stuff up in her head. in the breeder world we really know who she is before you even think to wright something about someone you dont know you might want to call the other dog breeders in the USA and ask them what they think

I have a dog from Crystal and she did not follow through with the "Health Contract" she gave us a very sick puppy and it almost died... After a ton of money spent we finally almost six months later we had a healthy dog... She was absolutely ridiculous to deal with and I would recommend not doing business with this person! For the astronomical price that you pay for a "pet" you should certainly get a healthy one!
I have always been tempted to hire a lawyer and make her follow through with the contract that she wants to make darn sure you follow through on, but she certainly does not return the favor!
Buyer beware!

I recently purchased a dog from the same breeder. Not only was Crystal helpful she did divulge the complaint left by the above individual. Not only did the above individual sign a contract that states the $300.00 deposit IS NOT TO BE RETURNED! She also was offered several puppies to replace the one that sadly passed away (she was offered mine which she said WAS UGLY). The particular dog she wanted is called a Tea Cup Schnauzer which is a harder puppy to keep alive as they are more fragile then normal ones. Here is my source: http://www.ehow.com/facts_5381764_differences-mini-tea-cup-schnauzers.html I have talked to Crystal about this problem and she did return some money to this individual but did make it clear that the money she refunded should never had been refunded as the individual above signed a contract. Crystal is very happy to answer any of the questions posed by this complaint and still has ALL E-MAILS the individual above and Crystal sent to each other. Honestly, I think after being offered numerous puppies as a replacement and even returning part of a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit there is really no pleasing you. (Personal opinion of course) Oh one more thing... This is the first real complaint lodged against this breeder and Crystal has been in business for years!

It might cost you, but you could look at getting a lawyer to send a letter. (If you have legal benefits through your employer, something like this might be covered for you). Having a lawyer send a letter with your demands may help the point hit home.

Also, if you are looking for a "t-cup" puppy, you may want to do some research on them. Most every breed association does not recognize any "t-cup" (or "tea cup") as acceptable as they often are bred too small to be healthy. Most legitimate breeders, it seems, will discourage breeding for and claiming to have this type of dog. A lot of people will tell you that the toy breeds are small enough already.
You might be doing yourself a disfavor in the long run as your dog might develop a lot of health problems due to this type of breeding for a "t-cup" size, therefore costing you more $$$ in the long run.
