We were scheduled to stop in Grand Cayman Mar 4, 2010, but sailed by it when the captain announced that due to weather the port was closed and that they were unable to tender us in.
A man was on the deck saying the port WAS open (he had called) and for everyone to go to customer service and complain. He was taken away by security.
Three ships arrived in the port ahead of us: Celebrity Century @ 6:55 am, Costa Fortuna @ 7:30 am and Liberty of the Seas @ 8:00 am. 8, 878 people made it on shore and the Conquest didn't? Closed port?!
They cheerfully refunded us $20 each.
Carnival does not need my repeat business!

I’ve been on five cruise’s in the past 3 years, all of them with Carnival. This is really the very first time I have had any complaints about damaged luggage. It’s about the last cruise I went on, it was on the Carnival Conquest leaving from Glaveston, Texas. My complaint is the shape my luggage was in when it arrived to our suite cabin. If you have ever been on a cruise before the luggage is ready and waiting for you as soon as you get on the ship usually, if not it is outside your cabin door very shortly after departure. One piece of luggage (my largest piece) was in terrible shape when it arrived. It was ripped and torn on the back, and some of my clothes had spilled out on the floor.
