The facility makes promises to families and cannot possibly keep because of lack of staff. They have two (2) personal care aides for 45 residents. Security system is never on and residents have been found wandering down the busy street (4 lane) or have been found outside and fallen on the ground and unable to get up without assistance. My family member has been found in deplorable condition and appeared she/he had been that way for quite some time (hours). Medication is being given by a person with an extensive criminal record. There is not a dietician to plan meals for residents. Very unsatisfied with facility, all they give you is false promises.

I agree. Often it is near impossible for an outsider to really shift through the marketing strategies and know that there is inadequate staffing to meet minimal standards of care, until a loved-one moves in and begins to make these observations themselves. Family may misconstrue loved ones concerns as adjustments to a new environment, or they have always been a bit critical etc...My suggestion is to listen, make your own observations, if you see one staff member on evening/night shift ask yourself how can one person be responsible to give showers, answer emergency call lights, answer telephone, pass medications, perform housekeeping duties, serve meals, provide personal care, etc...The employees normally love the residents. Their frustration is too much is being placed on them.

All of this is true, and much worse. I am a former Director there. The alarm is frequently off due to the fire alarm system going off and it disabling the magnetic locks, leaving all of the doors unlocked for hours at at a time, since the contracted alarm company has to sent a tech from Shreveport. Also, the assistant, Shonda, is bitter and hateful because she is consistently passed over for promotion due to her inexperience and poor attitude, so she enjoys making life miserable for anyone else that gets the job. During my tenure, she broke into the rooms of visiting employees to take pictures and rummage through their stuff, then show the pics to other staff, and do other things to sabotage events. There were also several incidents of theft- both of cash and medications. I reported it to the regional director as per policy only to find he and the corporate office covered it up. One of the ladies that pass meds (Catrice) has a history of stealing money and meds from residents. The regional director and corporate staff know this, but they refused to let us get rid of her. She was barred from another facility for being caught for the same thing! When I left there was no maintenance person, only one housekeeping person (who was also getting ready to leave), and bare bones staff. If you care for your family, DO NOT place them in ANY Assisted Living Concepts/Enlivant property...
