Applause aka Applause Points aka Encore aka Encore Points aka GDSI review: magazine sales scam 2

Two men approached me claiming that they were fundraisers trying to help children's hospitals and veterans. I believe they said their names were Dustin or Derek, I can't really remember. They also said that they were fundraising in conjunction with a course they were taking at their university (Stockton University of the Pacific), and that the receipt should be kept for tax deduction purposes (in other words, saying the company they work for is a non-profit). They referred to any money being given to them as a donation. They also said the cost for the donation was $52, which was not true. These men also said that I could pay online through your website, but that if I did, they would not receive credit/points for getting the donation.

I provided my credit card details over the phone, as they said they could not take them in person. When they gave me the receipt, the amount was not $52, it was $67. The receipt also stated that the company is GDSI, a for-profit company not associated with any schools or hospitals. Also, their writing was illegible, so I could not make out the salesperson's name, and it appears as though they wrote an incorrect date of sale. It appears to be March 1 on the receipt, when in fact it was March 24. Of course it would be to their benefit to lie about the date due to your cancellation policy.

The receipt also included details on the cancellation policy, which they did not tell me about prior to making the fraudulent sale. If I'm not mistaken, omitting a return/cancellation policy prior to a sale is illegal in the state of California. Also, it is illegal to pretend that you are associated with a non-profit and are fundraising.

Your company is not a non-profit, there is no reason to keep the receipt for tax deduction purposes. Any money given to these salespeople is not a donation and they are not participating in a fundraiser. These sales are not part of any school program. It is also impossible to make a payment through any of your company's websites (applausepoints.com and encorepoints.com), so there's another lie they told.

I would like you to provide me with the names of the salespeople who approached me. Since they are awarded points for making sales on your behalf, you should have this information. I plan to report these young men to the authorities. They were both white males appearing to be in their early 20s. One was probably around 5'10"and had dark tartar buildup on his top row of teeth. The other was shorter, maybe around 5'7" or 5'8". He was wearing long sleeves but I could make out that he had tattoos on his left arm featuring calligraphic lettering and strokes in one dark color (dark blue or almost black). He looked a little bit like a weird version of Jason Ritter.

This is in regard to receipt #L00704144. I have already sent you the cancellation form just in case within the stated 3-day period. However, please note that the date of sale was March 24, not March 1 as it appears on the receipt as written by the salesperson. I have attempted to call you, but you do not pick up the phone or return messages, so I'm guessing you're in on the scam anyway.

For resolution: provide me the name/s of the salespeople attached to this receipt and remove them from your crew. Also assure me that you will not try to charge me or collect this money in any manner since it was obtained via fraudulent sales practices, which are illegal.

This occurred in 95993, which is not my personal post code. This should make it easier to figure out who made the fraudulent sale.

Not a good program. The magazines are real but the sales people are tricked and most likely will end up strung out. They chase the border. They stay in places where drugs are easily accessible. Next time you see a receipt saying Applause Back a winner or Fot for life you should tell them you will buy 10 subscriptions for $600 if they can pass a drug test! That should make them run for the hills.

I do not work for any of the affiliated parties in this complaint post but am familiar with applause/encore. The company is not a scam it's a publishing clearing house out of kittredge Co. Under the umbrella name Fit For Life Network. The door to s for sellers are I independently enrolled in a s as Les contest. What they are gonna tell you it's used for is gonna vary from person to b person. I m assuming your salesperson made some questionable Statements but calling a n A+ BBB rated cooperation a scam Because of a statement by a representative is equivalent to asking McDonald's for a refund Everytime you eat there because they say it's 100℅ beef. Do a little more than "as little digging" before you slander people with words like scam. If I were them is be pressing defamation charges against you personally
