We ordered some warehouse equipment. They intentionally sent us a different model than we ordered. This model required a significant amount of additional labor and parts to install. We contacted them and said we wanted to return the product and get a refund. They said no. We could ship it back, pay a 20% "restocking fee", and use the remaining money to buy additional products. We said no since they intentionally sent us the wrong product. They will not take back the product or send us what we originally ordered. This company is completely unprofessional. We will need to settle the matter with litigation. The president Bill DiMaio is dishonest. Do not buy from this company.

    I have delt with this company for years and have delt with the owner several times. His company seems proud of the work they do and we have never been disatisfied. I spoke to the owner regarding this complaint and he explained the situation. It apprears to me they got exactly what they ordered but somewhere in the customers middle management there was conflict and misunderstanding. A comon problem with large companies. The owner said they could return the product but the customer never did.

    Problem with these reports is that anyone can say anything without any proof at all and it becomes a record that can not be withdrawn once it hits the web. Not a very credible source I would say.

    I would highly recommend doing business with American Surplus Inc. in East Providence RI ...Great company!

    I agree with the previous comment...what a great company American Surplus is. We have been buying our Material Handling equipment from them for over 10 years. They have helped our company save thousands of dollars and any little issue we had was taken care of swiftly. Sounds to me like ASI tried everything to satisfy this company. I wonder what the REAL problem was ?

    The real problems is American Surplus. Notice the last 2 posts they are written by the owner!!! How pathetic is that. No-one else would defend his unscrupulous tactics so he has the audacity to go and write his own. First you can't supply your customers with what you promised and then you fake a response!! What does that say about him????????

    American Surplus has been cleared of all accusations by American Express NOT ONCE BUT TWICE !

    Customer Webgistics WAS FOUND WRONGLY ACCUSING ASI of sending the wrong product to Webgistics. We will never do business with them again and I recommend anyone else to avoid doing business with this company. This was the very first accusation against ASI in over 20 years and we take our customer service very seriously. Yes I am proud to say I am the President of American Surplus and if anyone has any questions about this matter they can call me personally to discuss it in detail 800-989-7176...anytime!
