I hired Claude D. Boone of Mobile, ALabama, in October of 2008 to represent me in my divorce. He charged me $2500 up front. My court date for the divorce was six months later. I showed up for court and after waiting for Claude for an hour, I finally called his office and his secretary said my court date was rescheduled and no one had called me.
Upon my next visit to his office I informed him of this and he laughed it off and tried to say that they called me and informed me of the rescheduling. They did not. He had six months to prepare for my case and request discoveries from my husband and he would wait until two weeks before the court dates and then inform me he needed to hire experts and continue the case once again. He obtained two continuances that lasted six months each, and asked me to pay a $3500 retainer for an expert accountant. Then after opposing counsil got a third continuance in our case I was livid. Claude's secretaries were rude and short with me over the phone. He would not return my calls and tell me what was going on with my case. He was using up all of my retainer and had not gotten what we needed for our case. When he finally returned my phone call in February of 2010, I told him how rude his office staff was and that he was unreachable. He didn't like hearing the truth and two days after our conversation I received a sketchy, uninformative bill for over $200 as he padded my account and used up all of my retainer.
I hired a new attorney and wrote a letter firing Claude and requested my file and my $3500 retainer for the expert accountant I had given him. He then sent me a letter stating that he would give me my file once I paid my balance and that I would have to pay.30 a page for copies of any documents he had previously given me.
The law states he cannot charge me for my file, especially documents he acquired from opposing counsil. He was just jerking me around. Needless to say, I didn't get my file.
Stay away from this guy. He is rude, arrogant and only wants your money. He has no regard for the value of your time and his office staff is equally rude and unprofessional.
Claude Boone is the most disgusting individual to ever walk this planet. He rips families apart with his lies and bullying. He is as corrupt as they come. I am sure big percentages of those fees he charges are going straight into the pockets of Mobile, AL divorce lawyers. He is a greedy, sick man that will lie to his clients about motions that need to be filed and discovery that is needed to pull more and more money out of them. He expertly delays court time and time again, dragging out every case he is apart of. People want resolution, not some old jerk playing with their emotions and delaying court for his own personal gain. He may win a lot of cases but ask yourself if you really want this sort of corruption and evil in your life? Justice is not served with this man and I cannot believe that the state of Alabama still allows him to practice law.
Its all about how much money you have with these people. They don't care a thing about you as long as you fork out the money.
A family member of mine hired Claude Boone for their Divorce Attorney - it has been YEARS - and he has done a terrible job for my loved one. In fact, the ex husband owes approximately $40, 000 in child support and alimony not paid over the years. A good attorney would not have allowed that to happen to HIS client. It appears Mr. Boone, Judge Banks and the ex-husband are all good ole boys looking out for themselves and ripping my family member off ! What a shame -- the children are the one's being hurt by these corrupt men. Alabama laws need to be changed to favor the children! Men who don't pay their child support and alimony ON TIME and without harassment should be in jail !

My ex husband hired Claude in a divorce in 2000, he is corrupt as they come. He runs the court when Banks is presiding and I am sure he takes good care of Banks. He after 15 years taking my home as of Friday the home values over 200, 000 dollars over a debt of 2500.00 dollars. The home was gifted to my daughter and they assessed my debt to her.i am presently filing a bar complaint against him and Barry Thompson. Also I am filing a judicial complaint against Sarah Stewart Hicks. The legal aspect of this case was bias in Claude Boones favo! I am so sick of the corruption in Mobile County Alabama. I hired Larry Hallett Jr. for my divorce and he stole one hundred and eleven thousand dollars from me, and was only on my case for thirty days. I filed a bar complaint against him and received an Alabama Supreme Court a against him, so Claude has pursued me for years as a vengeance for Hallett.All of these lawyers and judges are as crooked as they come! My son and his family are being evicted on the 27th of June. They will not allow him thirty days to get out, the Sheriff is going to physically remove them, not allowing them to get their personal belongings . This situation could lead to some serious problems for all involved.

First of all, let me say I completely disagree with the person who says Mr. Boone should not be used as an attorney. I have had him as my attorney for years now with regards to a divorce and custody issues. He is the "biggest dog in the yard" here in Mobile. YOU (universal) dont hire Claude Boone for his bedside manner people. He is paid and does what he does as well as he does it BECAUSE he is arrogant which in the courtroom translates into a winning case. He is completely patient with any question a client has...although the client may not like the answer, he or she may or may not like the timing...but he is completely worth every penny spent for his representation.
This man is awesome! 100% beast mode at all times! That's what you want in domestic situations to get things your way! I've see him in action on an inlaws case and now a personal case! Worth every penny, just be patient, he knows what he is doing and is a very busy man! Plus, who doesn't call to talk over the case BEFORE the day of court? Seems like it's your fault you missed that memo and honestly, sometimes putting things off is best in the long run. Took two years to finalize my brothers divorce, in the end he got his children and everything he wanted and deserved thanks to Boone & Sullivan!
