Christ Ian Construction And Roofing review: Fraud 2

This past November 2010 I used a company called "Christ Ian Construction and Roofing" located in Grafton Ohio. Owner Robert Laurence and his crew did such a poor job that by the time the first snow fall it was leaking in 5 different area's.

He came over to fix his original work and by that time my carpet, wood work, ceiling and drywall had been ruined. Owner Robert Laurence suggested I put a claim into my insurance company to fix the damages and refused to pay for it to be fixed. I found out later that he does not gaurantee his work or his roofs. I am in the process of putting together a law suit now against "Christ Ian Construction and Roofing" and hope that no one ever has to deal with owner Robert Laurence ever again.

This is not what happened, I got the customer approved for $5000 worth of repairs for his storm damaged roof. I helped him with the claim and met the adjuster on his roof. Once he got the money he decided to only do the flat roof over an addition in the back, not the damaged roof slope, and pocket the rest of the money. We only did the flat roof. When winter came the homeowner had severe ice dams, it was a foot thick at the gutters and ice pushed up under the old roof we did not do. He also had ice back up from the gutter under the addition section and come in down the wall. Ice dams result from incorrect attic insulation and or ventilation and are not covered under any manufactures or roofers warranties, damages are often covered by insurance which I offered to help with. To appease the customer We went ahead and replaced a few shingle courses up on the old roof where the leak was, not on the roof WE did. I covered the cost anyway. I met the building inspector at his house and he found no problem with the work and sided with me. We offered some suggestions to reduce the ice build up. I did everything I could for this customer to make him happy above and beyond what I was responsible for. He told me If I didn't give him a $1000 he would trash my name on these boards, he offered to drop the matter if I would come out and re-seal his chimney flashing and make additional repairs to his old roof, after I did this at my cost again he went back on his word. Hope that explains who we were dealing with. Pic below shows the 7'ft icicles on his house.
