So we needed to remodel our bathroom. It had been a mess for 25 years without being remodeled. Great, exciting, wonderful. We hit Kitchen Bath Distributors and decided to slide down that slippery slope. The saleswoman was nice, she spoke in "construction phrases" and really never explained what what happening until it was too late to fix or backout of.

The company was given two and a half weeks to remodel our bathroom. It took 2 months for them to complete it.

The work they did left marks on my brand new living walls (that were just repainted and sanded after 30 years of wall paper was removed). They never came to finish the job of repairing all of the dents and scratches from the rip out.

The organiztion of the daily routine was obsurd. These people would come in and work half a day and leave! and then go on to their next project in the afternoon which is INSAINE! And which is what happens when you use subcontractor!

Knowing they only had two and a half agreed upon weeks to finish MY project, it would have been nice to be treated as if my hard earned money was as important as "the next" projects.
The workmen they sent were always pissed. Since they kept having to return to my home for mistakes that were constantly made.

"Junior" the 20 something-year-old-son-of-the-boss PROJECT MANAGER NEVER wrote anything down. He never showed up for more then 5 minutes. Always going on to the next job. ... and since his I.Q. was nearly 50 you can imagine how frustrating it was to have to remind him over and over again of what needed to be completed. My advice, get a pen and clipboard and take a seminar on how to use them!

By the end of the agreed upon contract timeframe we still had no completed bathroom. The left us without an installed toilet, no shower doors and a tub without faucets, which later, when I had to take ANOTHER day off from work, were installed backwards :) the caulking was never completed. Oh yeah, and they dont paint. Which would have been nice to know in the beginning BEFORE they planned to install a bathroom vanity. That way we could paint the drywall before and not our new vanity.

The respect and attention to detail was completely overlooked. AND they still demanded payment. I cannot imagine what the outcome would be if I performed MY job the way they performed theirs. I work in an operating room...

This was so unfortunate since we spent so much money to finally re-do out bathroom. There are plenty of other construction companies and contractors out there that will respect your project and properly complete a job. I will never use these people again...

Chrisnic Construction ripped me and my wife off.
Promised a new full dormer with a two foot overhang in the front of house for 45, 000.00 but at the end the price ended up being 85, 000.00.

I also had to be my own project manager.I had stone installed on my fireplace and I had to convince them to come back because there was so much excess concrete it was crumbling all over. I had to manage that part of the project too.granite counter was not sealed on one side because even though I was made to wait one week after they took my counter out they forgot to 'approve' the granite I picked-last minute I had to go back to granite yard TWICE and it was rushed at the last minute-the chinese subcontractor probably got squeezed by them too, they are adept at making you feel like youre complaining when you are only explaining.very slippery and defensive people.i understand they are related to 'kitchen and bath' in bellmore.seriously-go anywhere else

Chrisnic did a horrible, unprofessional job on my renovation. 4 months over schedule. They tried to use " Previously Used Lumber" on the job. There were nails and nail holes from where the wood had been used before. I had a 35 point checklist of serious issues and defects to be cleaned. The original project manager was fired from the job. The new project manager said he was embarrassed by the poor quality of what was done to the house and left as their final product. They eventually fixed everything as we withed a decent amount of money from them until completion. The wood used for door and window molding had so many knots in it it had to be removed, it wasn't paintable. The tile work in the bath was amateur. I could have done as well myself. The plumbing wasnt correct. the grout in the kitchen was not done properly. This was all a shock to me. They did my neighbors home expansion three years prior, he has great reviews of their work, and they met their schedule then. It looks as if they cant keep talented Project Managers and hire crappy sub contractors to do their work. I'd gladly give a tour and show the full punch list of repairs they needed to make

I cannot disagree more with the complaints that I have read by chance on this board.
I had my entire house redone and hired another contractor before Chrisnic, that contractor hired Chrisnic as a "sub" to do some of the work he could not. Well, it turned out after my contractor started the job, he "realized" the job was too big for him. I was stuck, Chris (the owner) came in spoke to me and gave me a cost outline for what he could do it for.
It was reasonable, done professionally, I received all my permits first time and something occured that speaks volumes about the owner; I had a problem with the weight of my roof due to ceramic tiles (that was not Chrisnics fault), he advised having a second architect come in and fix the problem. I believed it was no big deal and did not want to spend the extra $1500 for the architect. He said; John I can't in good conscience do this the way you want, you have your family here, I will pay for it no problem. Thats when I realized this was a bigger potential problem than I thought. I paid for it, he was correct and the house has not had a problem 3 years later.
I realize no one is perfect but you treat people like you want to be treated. I treated his people with respect and I received it 100% in return, the men were always there and 100% trustworthy.
You can't talk against Chrisnic in my book and I have dealt with MANY contactors over the years in various areas.

A follow-up to my recent posting. It is only fair to include the fact that Dave and company have addressed all my concerns. This is the first time I've used a contractor and I feel that the quality of work should be better while using a professional.

Unfortunately, I did not read these comments before I had my bath re-done in August. Good ole Junior was actually fired in the middle of my job. Problems ran from poor sub-contracting work (I had to have the tub taken out and re-enforced, and the tilers back about 5 times) to them ordering the wrong tiles. I came back from a trip to see the wrong floor tiles set. Here it is, 5 months later and I am waiting for them to come and re-plaster my ceiling for the 2nd time. I guess it's true - you get what you pay for.

I agree, I also had a horrible experience with Chrisnic Construction. I have damages to my home they are refusing to fix.
They actually enclosed a gasoline can in my new staircase.
Dave the manager is a persistant liar, he's great to let you think things will get done, but never does.
All they care about is collecting you money real fast, but the project could'nt be slower.
I failed numberous building inspections, prolonging the project. I would actually call the office in tears for weeks on end.
The owner is a hot head, the subcontractors will talk negative about the company if given the opportunity.
I strongly suggest to choose someone else, there are some good honest contractors out there.

I just stumbled along this complaint and I couldn't disagree more.

I thought Chrisnic did a fabulous job. I have recently got my kitchen done from Chrisnic and couldnt be happier.

Chrisnic Staff was extremely helpful. From the office staff to the Project Manager "Junior", I thought they were all so easy going and answered all my 100 of questions as promptly as possible.

I would recommend this company to my family and friends.

Looking into getting my bathroom done at the end of the year.

Good look Shoppers! Don't believe everything you hear :)
