My 2016 Chevy Trax had turbocharger failure in February 2021, fortunately the SUV was still under factory warranty with only 35, 000 miles. After the lengthy repair time, I got the car back but it did not run smooth and would jerk going up hills and at intersections. I returned to the Chevy authorized repair dealership and the problem was during the engine repair the fuel injectors were reconnected incorrectly. The car never ran the same following the repair. Fast forward to November 2021 I received a letter from Chevy Customer Experience Operations informing me that they are providing additional protection for 10 years if this condition should occur again. December 2021 my car began experiencing the symptoms Chevy listed associated with the turbocharger failure, (the engine will periodically run rough and the vehicle looses or has reduced power), which is extremely dangerous when pulling out in to traffic at an intersection. I have visited the Chevy authorized repair dealership on the 3-4 times this has occurred but since the (Check engine malfunction indicator does not illuminate) there are no codes to check so no diagnosis. I spoke to a representative at the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center she contacted the Chevy authorized repair dealership and echoed back to me that nothing could be done since the malfunction indicator light does not come and no codes are registered for diagnosis. What ever happened to mechanics that could fix a car without diagnostic codes? So when it happens I am to call or stop the dealership, that is very unrealistic given their business hours and logistics of where I may be traveling in the state. There was no concern for my safety, no offer of vehicle buy back, I should not have this much trouble with a vehicle that does not even have 50, 000 miles... buy American made they say... not again and certainly not a Chevrolet product.

Country of complaint: United States

Desired outcome: Fix or replace with similar vehicle, year, mileage and extras
