Checkworks, Inc review: I would like the rest of the checks that should have made up a box of checks I was under the impression I was ordering.

On August 28, 2022, I ordered 1 box of printed checks and a register. I was charged $5.99 for the checks, $2.99 for the register, $10.25 handling, and $1.34 sales tax for a total of $20.56. I received only one book of checks (30 checks) and the register. These came in a plastic material (like you get clothing in), not even a box. I sent them this email:Hello,

Their response:The checks that were ordered are the basic style checks they come in a smaller quantity than our standard checks. I will be happy to submit an additional order for you or if you would like to return the checks, we can order the standard checks.

My reply:Dear Customer Service:

I placed my first order with your company on October 16, 2013. This last order is my 6th order. Although I don't order frequently or in large quantities, I kept coming back to you. Every order, including the one I just received, said "1 box single". Here are 2 screenshots of your website:

Notice above it says 30% more in every box and 125 single checks. I ordered from the checks listed under 'personal checks'. I did not see any place where it mentions only one book of checks.

In addition, I inhaled sharply when, at check out, I was being charged &10.24 for handling when I only paid $2.25 for my last order on December 6, 2020. I went ahead with the order anyway because I have been ordering from your company since 2013. Upon receiving only 1 book (not in a box), this handling is even more ludicrous. It would have only taken 2 stamps (3 tops!) to mail this out. Most people are aware that companies advertise "free shipping" and make up for it by charging a 'handling' fee. But, honestly, even shipping on a whole box would have been more like the $2.25 I was charged previously.

I find it amazing that you are offering to place an additional order (does that mean another $7.99 for each book, plus another ridiculous handling fee?). Or better yet - I can send you back the checks I received (at my expense) and you'll order me the standard checks (whatever that means). You also failed to indicate the cost for that.

I expect you will finish off my order and send me the rest of the 1 box single (125 single checks total) as soon as possible.

I have heard nothing back from this company since then, nor received any more checks from them. I was always satisfied with my previous 6 orders from them.
