Let's talk facts. My sister purchased two cats from Shelli for her two boys, who both have autism. My nephews of course mean the world to me. It is very difficult to watch what is going on with the boys now.
My sister purchases two rag doll cats from Shelli as support cats for my nephews. The first cat named Iggy her parents Paulie Joe and Sirringo both cats Shelli used to breed Iggy knowing Paulie Joe is a FIP carrier. Unfortunately my sister was not aware of that so she purchased a second cat named Newton awhile later. This little guy is a game changer ❤️... The sweetest, most fun cat you will ever know. Unfortunately, my sister just learned 2 weeks ago that now Newton has FIP. My sister has not had Newton in her care for a year yet. She picked Newton up from Shelli last August 2020. It's now June. She hasn't had him for a year 😢. My sister was told my Shelli to order "black market" drugs to try and cure Newton, even against the advice of Newton's Veterinarian. Shelli has to be stopped so that no other family will go through what we are going through now.
Facts only.

Desired outcome: Investigate

If I could give this company a zero, I would! Shelli knowingly sold cats with FIP to many families, some families purchased these kittens for their special needs kids as support cats. After being exposed, she directs people who purchased cats from her sickly litter to buy medication that isn't approved in the US! Someone this unethical should not be doing business.
I was warned by someone who purchased two cats from her. I'm watching them go through agony and something that could have been prevented by you not selling kittens whose parents were infected with that virus. Those poor kitties are a year old and one is about to die. The other is watching her sibling die slowly. The family with their two sweet children, who needed these animals for support are now watching their poor kitten suffer. Their mom and dad having to explain why their cat isn't playing with them anymore, laying around looking pitiful and taking steroids to make him more comfortable before the inevitable happens. They have gone to the vet and there is nothing they can do because FIP is FATAL! Instead of apologizing, or empathizing, Shelli is being very defensive. She hasn't apologized to this family, nor did she offer them their money back. Instead, she tried to get them to purchase unapproved meds off of a black market Facebook page, which her vet warned against. So as I watch them, their sweet boys, and these poor kitties go through this traumatic event, I definitely decided not to purchase from Center Hill Ragdolls. And if I can help it, other cat lovers will read this and ask Shelli questions about the litter she continues to sell that had at least one parent infected with this virus, AND use the male cat that could potentially have the virus as well because he mates with the other cats that had it. Then hopefully they won't use her either.

Response from breeder: Our hearts break for this baby (and the family) if he indeed has the random mutation for FIP as it's literally impossible to breed cats with Feline Infectious Peritonitis, or for kittens to be born with the viral-born mutation. Facts - and a little research on the complainer's part - would be wonderful! There is no such thing as a cat that is an FIP carrier. We have NO cats in our care with FIP - furthermore, breeding cats cannot pass FIP to offspring. No caring, reputable breeder would knowingly raise and sell sick cats. The insinuation that this is the case is misguided and cruel. Despite our efforts/attempts to gain more information about his condition (literally no documentation has been provided), assist with veterinary care/treatment, or bring him back into our care in order to evaluate him and pursue appropriate treatment ourselves, those efforts were refused. Instead, we were met at every turn with slanderous speech and verbal abuse, not unlike the review being responded to. This family's priority is having money returned and turning their backs on this kitten - our contract specifically states that viruses are not covered because cats can pick them up anywhere that they visit or spend time once they leave our care. Was this kitten checked for viruses or fatal illnesses in the first 72 hours of ownership by the family's veterinarian as required by our contract? We did not receive proof of any such visit or testing. The contract also states that kittens that can no longer be cared for - whether by choice or financially - must be returned to us unconditionally. The family refuses to do so. Despite our attempts to make every good-faith effort to bring him back into our care, these continued actions prove to us that the family is willing to allow him to get sicker - and possibly die - simply because they can't get a full refund or have him replaced. Who's really in it for the money? So devastating for our family. And speaking of families (AND FACTS)... to date, we've had ZERO families lose a kitten to FIP, or any other fatal illness. It's amazing the difference it makes when breeder and family have an open, honest, compassionate, health-focused, proactive relationship. We're now left wondering how this experience could be different, especially for this baby, if this family had chosen that approach with us. It's always our choice to be an ally, but when met with impossible demands, threats, gross falsehoods, and disingenuous efforts to reach a good outcome, this is where we are left - with no good outcome.
