I too, tried to cancel my account with CastleRock only to be told that I had to finish my 3 years. When I tried to cancel after the 3 year period, I was told that it had automatically renewed. So far I have sent a letter to the BBB of Illinois, written to the President of CastleRock, Brian Johnson, and tomorrow will disable the system. I refuse to pay any more months of service after my 3 year contract ended but need to know if there is anything that I can do to end this contract. IF there is anything that someone knows of that we can do to stop this practice, please let me know. I will be glad to help stop the unfair business practices of this company and would love to see them go out of business!

Approximately 3 years ago 2 men arrived at my home and sold us on a home security system. They represented themselves as working for Firstline Security. My account was then sold to SAI Security and now sold again like a ten dollar [censored] to CastleRock.
On June 23rd 2011 I sent a letter to Castle Rock (as this was at the end of my contract) and I received and email response from them indicating they could not accept my request and automatically renewed my account for another year. I contacted the customer service department and was told it would cost me $518.00 to buy out of the contract. Since June 23rd I receive no less than 3 calls a day asking me to submit my payment. I've tried several times to cancel and they refuse to do so.
I feel like I am being held hostage by this company with no where to turn.
