I purchased a sectional in 2019 with the insurance plan that they sell you. In 2021, the first recliner breaks, I fill out the claim online, sent in the photos of the broken piece of the sectional, which I thought was the LAF recliner, I thought if I was sitting in the chair which arm would it be that I was using. The reason for the couch breaking was it didn’t work anymore, don’t know what happened. Ok no problem, they sent someone to my house to look at the broken recliner, he said he would order the piece to have it replaced. Remember this is 2021, right after covid and it was hard to get any parts because a lot of things were back ordered. I was patient never complained, eventually in 2022 they decided that I would never receive the part and sent me a voucher to replace the piece of the sectional that was broke.

Now 2023, the opposite side of the recliner breaks which is the RAF recliner, again if your sitting in the chair, I’m thinking it’s the chair that my arm is resting on the arm piece. Went back to guardian, filed the claim online sent in the pictures of the broken chair and said the same exact thing I said in 2021, that it just stopped working I don’t know what happened. First they come back and told me they couldn’t process the claim because I had all ready sent a claim for that piece of furniture, which is a lie because I sent in a claim for LAF not the RAF, sent them pictures again of both pieces explaining which one was the one with the claim in 2021. And told them when I filed the claim in 2021, why didn’t anyone tell me then that it was the wrong chair that I was filing the claim for and when the insurance person came to my house, why didn’t he tell me it was the wrong piece that I filed the claim for. I don’t hear from them for awhile. Now they come back and say my claim is denied because I said I don’t know how it broke, it just stopped working one day, they said I since it wasn’t an accident they can’t process my claim.

Mind you when you are buying the “good proof” plan and you look at the items on the flyer they give you it’s says clearly “Breakdown or breakage of motors for motorized recliners and reclining furniture after the manufactured warranty has expired limited to a single incident”.

I would suggest to anyone thinking of buying the insurance plan for any furniture from bob’s to think twice about it, it’s not worth the money.
