BCS Wireless / ATT WirelessThis is a major scam!

I initially received a cell phone offer from BCS/ATT Wireless several years ago and began service in July 6th 2003. I have since kept service with ATT until their merger with Cingular at which time I upgraded my plan and phone on November 11th, 2004. I am now getting calls at my workplace from a collection agency stating I have a past due balance of $150 due to early termination of service.

I have contacted ATT and they show zero past due balance or any amount written off due non-payment.

I have sent letters of dispute to Equifax, Experian, TransUnion stating these facts and including the so called telephone number to BCS which is an #800 meet girls hotline as well as their internet site, BCSWS.com, which also does not exist. I also faxed a letter of cease and desist to the collection agency with a copy of the dispute to all three major credit reporting agencies.

This is a major scam and if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how I should go about getting this removed from my credit, it would be greatly appreciated.

Wow!!! So sad to hear so many have delt with what i am dealing with now! My case is from back in 04' and to be honest I never paid attention to anything from BCS because I have never had service with them, only AT&T for the last 8 years. So now I have a law firm demanding i pay 311.00 today or they will take me to court and i'll have to pay around 1, 300.00!!! What!!! I am beside myself with how nasty people can be!! This is ridiculous and they threaten with freezing assets, ect!! I am pleased to say that AT&T are taking their time to try and find out whats going on!!! Since they have found no delinqences or voids in contract...Praying this is resolved soon!!

I too just recieved a phone call from a collection agency stating that I have an overdue account with BCS of $261.32 and I have never had service with them I have no idea of how to handle this. Supposedly it's from 4 years ago and I have always had service with the same company for many many years!

i had att wireless not even a year, due to the enormous amounts a had to pay every month. A att representative told me that my plan had unlimited internet use ( media net ), turns out that wasnt the case. i had a bill of $ 500 dollars because i used media net when it was suppost to be pay-per-use.

also every month after that the bill came in the $2oo range and it was getting rediculous.
in 5 months i had payed att over 1, 000 dollars.!

i do not recomend att to anyone, even for home internet:
my internet is constantly failing and i have to call the company hotline to get it repaired. it is so agravating to call constantly in order to connect to the internet.
im supprised that i have connection in order to express my feelings in this compliant.

    yours truly,

I am speaking for my son, I am saddened to see that others have been scammed by the AT&T/BCS cell phones. I have to eat crow and realize my son was right. He kept saying it was a scam and that they didn't owe anything, Yet I wanted him to pay his bills, but yet he's paid over and over with this so called BCS. Now I am a Mother against you BCS wireless people. We have been dealing with this problem now, for at least three or four years. I know they've paid twice. They still can't get their credit restored from this BCS company. Redeem yourself BCS and let the credit bureau know your customers who have paid their dues!!! Why don't you wipe their slates clean? Or maybe you really are a scam, like my son says. Where are you? The last time we paid through Western Union direct to you, you said you'd clear up everything and also send a paid in full receipt. Haven't seen it. Am I an idiot to even be sharing my feelings. I will always check things out from now on than to believe we owe, we owe, so off the work we go, to keep paying so called companies that do not care about anyone but themselves. Show yourselves. BCS, you are a bad name for wireless. AT&T speak up. WERE YOU SCAMMED TO? If things sound fishy, they really are.

    Signed, Angry at you.

I too am being scammed by BCS Wireless / ATT Wireless. I still have the service and they report me to a credit collection agency. I am very knowledgeable about correcting incorrect reporting and when I faxed a letter to obtain proof of this "$150" charge, they faxed back a recording script. Who knows where this paper came from?

I am disputing it to the credit bureaus, and taking it to the courts. This company needs to be dealt with hardball. That is the only way if its a scam.
