On 5/4/23 we dropped off our 2016 Silverado with a DEF issue. On 5/5/23 we rec'd a call stating they need to replace the DEF sensor and it would be $800 and would take a few days. On 5/8/23 we get a call that they broke off the 02 sensor in the catalytic convertor. We NEVER once got a call or gave them approval to do this work to our truck and now they are looking to charge us $3,200 to replace the catalytic convertor. I have been around the car business my entire life and I know that you are to contact the customer FIRST before proceeding with any work. Not only that but you break off a piece in the truck and expect me to pay? I was finally able to talk to the service manager and explained how upset I was over the cost and not being told they were working on something totally seperate that we did NOT agree too.
Desired outcome: REFUND
