On May 1,2023 I had fallen down our front stairs due to ice and snow. On May 2, 2023 I was seen in Urgent Care and I had no complaints. Staff was efficient and professional. On May 17, 2023 I followed up with my PCP with no improvements of my pain and symptoms of my left shoulder. She then referred me to Ortho who in a timely manner saw me on May 22, at that visit I was given an order for an MRI of the left shoulder and sceduled for June 9, 2023. On my way home I resceduled for an earlier appointment May 31, 2023. I was told theat ortho would contact me with the results. They did contact me in a timely fashion the next step is my complaint. I was told I had a massive tear rotator cuff and the surgical schedular would contact me. She did call me and told me the first opening was July 18, 2023. She did ask me if I wanted to be put on the list if they have a cancellation, I agreed. This was agreed upon on June 5, 2023. As of June 14 and no earlier options, I was frustrated that it would be another 6 weeks before I could have surgery. I did call to leave a message for the staff asking for a muscle relaxor to help get me through and was denied, I was not asking for pain medication but something to help make it through or lets be empathetic and at least offer another provider who may be able to get me in earlier. I know of three other capable surgeons. I left Advocate Aurora system which I retired from in frustration! I saw the ortho provider on Wednesday and I was scheduled 9 days later and on my way to recovery. I felt important enough to be taken care of in a timely manner.

Desired outcome: I retired from a Milwaukee facility as the Lead at the clinic. Why when an MD gets so far behind are patients not offered another provider. I felt abandoned and sought medical help out of the system.
