Description:
On said date, my mother, age 78 at time, was admitted to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for dehydration and released from hospital with a bed wound the size of a tennis ball and 4 or more inches in depth.
Problem/issue:
- The wound from the hospital has left her bedridden to present day without the ability to function physically and mentally or live a normal
- The medical attention required by hospital staff were not provided:
- No Physical Therapy
- No Occupational Therapy
- No Speech Therapy
- No turning every 2 hours as explained
- No bathing
- Improper diagnosis
- Discharge of patient without a plan of action
- No support or management guidelines for wound from BWMC before or
after discharge.
- 24/7 care required.
- The wound needs fresh dressings 3x/week.
- We had to find a wound center, closest being 45 minutes away.
- Exhausting all of funds, savings and retirement, thus far > $160,000.
- Confined to the bed and experiencing atropy.
Solution:
We are seeking support, returned to whole, reimbursement. Mental counseling for trauma all each of us, continuous support management.
