Subject: We paid for car repair insurance with Car Shield, and received an insurance contract with Auto Shield Seller/ Marketer,(one of several Car shield divisions) which allows them to sell car repair insurance in Calif. they aren't legally allowed to sell in.

Please reverse charges of 1844.00 charged to our Visa credit card on 8/20/18 by a company listed as Auto Shield, who we didn’t give our credit card info.to. (we didn’t know of them, or seek or purchase a car repair insurance from them)! We did provide Car shield with the credit card information to purchase Car Shield repair insurance with them. We currently last week when contacting Car Shield to add our Avalon vehicle to the Car Shield insurance (at the number on the insurance booklet (we received 8/20/2018, after paying our 5 yr. car repair insurance in full) using our Visa credit card) that we were insured with Auto Shield, not Car Shield. The answering device identified the company as Car Shield, and we were transferred to several divisions, after giving the information on our insurance booklet, and only the department., handling the MBI insurance accounts, (who we had never heard of either) could locate an account for us, and advised us that we were with the Auto Shield Marketer/ seller. We spent 4 hours on the phone, being transferred between Car Shield’s MBI, their Auto Shield and their Car Shield division, trying to understand how this Auto Shield company got to sell us insurance, using our credit card we’d given to the Car Shield insurance. We were told by the MBI division that Auto Shield was a division of Car Shield, and they did all the marketing & sales for Car Shield, and since we were requesting to have the insurance cancelled, we’d have to deal with Auto Shield. We also learned that Car Shield cannot legally sell their insurance in California so Auto Shield was used, because they can sell in California. If you call the phone number for Auto Shield Marketing/ Seller, on front face page of our supposedly insurance contract, the recording will answer identifying that dept. as Car Shield, (unless they’ve been smart enough to change the recording), because we did advise the supervisor of Car Shield customer support, we wanted our payment returned in full, (we’ve never used it, nor could we, as the dealership for our Camaro ZL1 stated upon our inquiring, that they wouldn’t accept any insurance that wasn’t purchased from a company who couldn’t sell legally in California. But the Car Shield customer support supervisor Lydia, L. explained that we can cancel, but would receive a partial refund for the months still available for service on the insurance contract, (which was charged fraudulent, because we never requested a car repair insurance from Auto Shield) She gave us contact information so we could send a request for cancellation, which we did, (see email attached), and we received a reply stating the attachment, (the copy of our cover page of the Auto Shield insurance booklet), was dropped, because it violated their data security policy of their company! How can the cover page received from their company be a violation, to their company, when sent to them to identify our supposedly account with one of their divisions who charged our visa without our knowledge, because the credit card was given to pay for the Car Shield repair policy for our Camaro, ZL1.and it was sent by them? When we didn’t hear from Lydia L, we started all over again, explaining to Auto Shield, MBI, and Car Shield customer support divisions how we were frauded, but to no avail. The Auto Shield offered to return the balance that’s prepaid from now through 8/ 23, explaining that was all we were entitled to. We then received a voice message from Lydia L. giving us the contact information so we could send an email to Auto Shield to request a refund.

Desired outcome: Reverse charges paid to Auto Shield who we never requested Car Repair Insurance, for unauthorized charge for a Car repair insurance we requested from Car Shield, not Auto Shield who charged our Visa fraudulent.
