Herewith my email to Atlantic this morning:

Dear Hendrina

I refer to our telephonic discussion of a few minutes ago regarding the convection / microwave oven of Mrs F Dicks that has been back to your workshop three times since purchase due to a number of defects.

You informed me that your staff let the microwave run with water and food for two days, and no problems were experienced.

Your further informed me that the agreement between Defy and Mrs F Dicks is as follows:

• You will have the scratched cover replaced at Defy's expense and return the microwave to her home at Finkenstein;
• Should the microwave become defective again (which will be the fourth time since purchase), Defy will drive out to Finkenstein to inspect the microwave and it will be replaced under the warranty.

At the end of our conversation I repeated the aforementioned agreement to you, which you confirmed.

Insofar as you may be under the misconception that the microwave trips the electricity, that is not the case. The microwave simply stops working, sometimes with the lights still on, and on other occasions it is dead altogether.

I remind you that the aforementioned microwave was purchased together with a washing machine, dishwasher and an extractor fan for Mrs Dicks' house at Finkenstein. That was shortly after I had purchased two eye-level ovens, a hob, an extractor and two dishwashers from Atlantic for my houses in Swakop and Windhoek. All these appliances were sold with warranties, which every customer expects to be honoured. We fail to understand what the issue is with the warranty of the microwave and why that cannot be honoured.
