Hello Everyone, I wish read his reviews before buying his service. I signed up for altimetry after watching his interview with 'Stansbury Research' for $5000. I was naïve and beginner investor and I was searching for investing gurus and I wasn't aware that the scammers are lurking around in this industry everywhere. Once I gained access to his site, I realized the information provided in his site is available elsewhere like seekingalpha etc. for free. I knew immediately what I have done but I thought lets give it a try. Soon after I joined this service he started adding "additional features" such as hidden alpha etc. and started asking for more money. Then I knew its surely a scam because in his interview he said any future services that comes out of altimetry is part of that $5000 package and that was the main selling point for me. At this point Immediately I wanted to cancel and called up asked them cancel and I received the email confirming it. Then I saw $-212.93 charge on my credit card on 10/08/21 and immediately called them to cancel and they said they will refund me the money soon. A few days back when I was going through my bank statements I realized that the money was never refunded and called up again, now they are saying once changed they cant refund the money. Honestly when I lost $5000 to this scam I care less about $212. I just wanted to let everyone know that please be aware these bogus businesses. (Please note:- I want to attached all the transaction and cancellation screenshots as a proof but I don't see the option here. can someone let me know how to attach screenshots?)
My few advice which I learnt in few years
1) Never give money when someone asks for lump sum amount without installment/trial option (a big red flag)
2) Run away from these two words 'altimetry.com' and 'stansberryresearch.com'
I agree. Altimetry is dishonest. They offer a full refund if you cancel within 30 days and when you do they claim it's for product credit not a refund. Hooked! Stay away!
Not suprised to read here of the terrible experience people are reporting in connection with Altrimetry.com. It appears the Chasing Alpha video on Youtube is the dragnet used by one or more professional con artists and confidence tricksters behind Altimetry.com to lure investors into their trap so they can rob you blind. Two years ago, a video I was watching on youtube was interrupted by the Chasing Alpha 'infomercial' which played for more than hour. That was the first redflag that I missed. The lengthy infomercial is a deliberate tactic to weed out the smart people. The longer you watch, the more you signal your status as a ready mac/victim. In my case, the saving grace was that I had the common sense to limit my initial payment to $240 based on the idea that I would only spend more if I see results. Not only did their investment advisory turn out to be worthless, they proceeded without my permission to sell my contact details to just about every other online scam artist out there. My inbox continues to be flooded with solicitations to subscribe to similar BS service as Altimetry.com to this day. I called the customer service line demanding they stop sharing my information and that they should infact delete it as I'm no longer a subscriber to their service. I could almost hear the chuckle at the other end of the line from the female voice I spoke to who nonchallantly said 'yes' obviously with no intention to do anything about my request. I continue to get dozens of emails to this day from Altimetry.com related sources or affiliates masqurading as seperate investment experts, some of them welcoming me to their subscription service out of nowhere when I've done no such thing or ever even heard of them. I believe this is a provocative tactic they use to check to see if you're still there after they have not heard from you for a while. Clicking on the 'Cancel Subscription' link lets them know their victim is still alive!
Instead of clicking to unsubscribe, block the sender and flag the email source as a potential phishing attempt. You can also create rules for your email client to automatically delete emails from a given source or containing keywords and expressions fitting a pattern used by these criminals. I hope they get their date with justice.
