ADTEC Inc. review: Bad Treatment by consulting company 1

Adtec Consulting has the mission statement "WE'RE ALL ABOUT PEOPLE". They refer to this when they call you and email you. They promise you a six month contract with "Unlimited Contract Extensions".
I recently finished a 5 months contract at WPS in Madison, where I was placed by ADTEC. Thirteen new contractors started work with ADTEC when I did. All of us were from out of state. We were all ecstatic to find a job in this horrendous job market. We thought we were LUCKY.
From the get-go things went badly at WPS where Adtec assigned us. We were working 11 hour days and getting paid for 8, just to try stay ahead of the game. When we asked the permanent employees questions they kept saying stuff like "You're a Contractor. You should KNOW this stuff". As an example of the work situation there, we had to create Claims Test data. The permanent employees at WPS did not want to share their test data with us. None of the contractors knew how the online Claims system worked and so spent days spinning their wheels trying to create test data . The permanent employees refused to show us, because they insisted "You're a Contractor. You should KNOW this stuff".

We were shell shocked at the treatment we got and contacted ADTEC. They didn't blink. They promised they'd come in the next day to discuss the issue. They never did. We emailed them, left voicemails. Nothing happened. Adtec was M.I.A. The contractors started leaving. The first ones to leave gave 2 weeks notice. The next few gave a few days notice and left saying they had a "Family Emergency". The last few just upped and left, just walked out. They couldn’t take it anymore. This company has a track record for treating it’s contractors like this. They bring in people from out of state and then treat them like second class citizens. The Better Business Bureau was contacted, but they were unable to assist. People need to be made aware of how this company operates before they relocate to Madison Wisconsin and get stuck in an apartment lease and a bad job situation with Adtec.

So sorry to hear this situation you're in. Please understand that not all staffing firms are alike and this type of thing hurts the industry as a whole. I, Kelly, welcome a phone call from you to help you in your unfortunate turn of events.

Best of luck to you (and all the others you spoke of in this position) from all of us at Drake & Company Staffing Specialists [protected])
