Checked in over a month ago and has been a nightmare since. The room was dirty so I had to clean it myself. I turned in all the covers/sheets and towels because they all had blood stains on them. The room was loaded with roaches so I bought roach gel to take care of the problem since the front desk says "it is an extended stay, they all have roaches" which is not a fact. The check in was bad. I should have ran then. The bigger guy/they with the ponytail didn't greet me and when I told him the smaller guy/they told me I can come now to check in, he immediately refuse to do so and said well "you have to wait for him cause I didn't say that" Then one day I came to say my fridge was not working. (took 4 days to get another one and the maintenance guy made my husband put it in and while moving it, there was a used needle and food all behind it. My food went bad and was over $100.00 lost) The bigger female there does not speak to you face to face. She sits on the side where you cannot see her but only hear her.(stays on her phone all day and doesn't even hang up if you are talking to her) I say "excuse me" Instead of her walking to the window to help, she walks up and says with an attitude and her hand waving around "what! I am trying to pray!" I asked her, why every time I come up here, you act in this manner?" You should show a higher level of professionalism" She cursed me out and left me at the front desk so I was unable to put in this work order. The next day, the bigger guy with the ponytail said I had to check out. "why? because I need a new fridge?" Needless to say the manager came and told me I can stay but I am not allowed to make work orders or come to the front desk at all now! Wow, I am a property manager, been one for over 10 years, including at an extended stay property and I have never heard of a manager acting in this manner and he also allows the workers there to do the same thing. Lets fast forward, we have been here over a month. Laws states after a month in the same room, that the taxes come off. Remind you, I know how this works because I to am a property manager. They told my husband that is not true and not only charged him taxes but also went up on his rent in hopes that we would just leave. I am a property manager, my husband is a plumbing foreman. We make over $100,000.00 a year. We was only here while we close on a house. We was treated as if we were drug addicts or something. I came to the office after work with the state of Florida laws on Transit to resident and showed them thinking maybe they just didn't know. But nope, after telling them, they still charged these taxes and stole our money. They then changed our move out date so the next week they can say the room is booked already for someone else, which is also against the law, as to we are now residents and the only way to put us out is through an eviction. We always paid one day before the room was due. then last week we paid, they said we cannot stay and they overbooked our room. I know the law and was prepared to just pay the clerk of courts the money and take them to court. Well the manager let me stay but asked many times when are we leaving. He knows I am very educated and saw me as a problem because I could point out everything he is doing unlawful including charging taxes to the residents. "Please check into this because IRS was also contacted with proof attached" And so was Department of Revenue. This property needs a major clean up. From the workers to management. Also there are homeless people sleeping in the parking lot. Most of these people WERE tenants they kicked out because they complained about an employee or the room condition. One lady complained about mold and she wasn't even there a week and they kicked her out and didn't refund her last day. The bigger guy/they with the ponytail told her " It's not my problem you and your kid are homeless. Very unprofessional and heartless when this lady only requested a mold free room, in which the law states is "our rights to fair housing" Just another thing to add to the laws they are breaking. I have called and emailed everyone I could with the law on this matter. I am hoping you take this serious. As you know a guest was staying here and died from your staff not wanting to work!
Desired outcome: Requesting the taxes back that I was forced to pay that was against state laws.Retraining or restaffing the manager and front desk.
