Deceptive and False claim information

I purchased Xcover insurance through Booking. I feel as if this insurance is a scam. Long story short, flight was delayed causing me to miss the connecting flight, next flight left 24 hours later. We had to cancel trip and return home, the airlines refunded our money to Booking and Booking refused to refund the money. Provided all supporting documents to Xcover including letter from airline on why flight was delayed. Xcover denied claim, we had to hire an attorney. Xcover responded with a generic email template. I'll be back with an update.

Update: 5/18.

The attorney has just mailed the letter, 10 days for Booking and Xcover to respond and resolve.

UPDATE: 5/31:

Xcover is still denying the claim, stating they "searched the internet" for weather conditions and based on their "google" search, the weather was good. Per Spirit, "I found that your flight (NK-1284) on April 06, 2023, was delayed due to an earlier Air Traffic Control (ATC) decision related to a weather issue." This delay caused us to miss the connecting flight with no other flights for at least 24 hours. Xcover says it's not in their policy to cover this sort of claim or delay. A waste of money and time dealing with Xcover. I will NEVER use them again.

False advertisement and their "Not covered" section on the site is vague. A lot of hidden terms and conditions. Typical insurance, they'll figure out a way NOT to pay.

Still waiting on Booking to refund $173. Spirit refunded me but Booking isn't releasing it.

I'm glad to see that we were able to provide you with a refund for the affected segment of your trip on April 10, 2023 in the amount of $173.92 to your Credit card on file ending in 2992 and $61.00 to your Credit card ending in 4453. Even though funds are released immediately on our end, it may take up to 7 business days to reflect on your account (depending on your bank).

I can verify the refund for your reservation has been released on our end. After further review, I also see your reservation was purchased through a third-party website. When a reservation is purchased through a third-party website, there may be times when this company may use a different credit card to secure the booking with us from the original given to complete the payment on their website.

Please beware of using Xcover for insurance and Booking.com for reservations. If you need a refund, be prepared to be disappointed.

Get insurance through the airlines directly or check your credit card for insurance. I will never use 3rd party companies.

Buyer beware.
