They did this to me as well!

When my 1 year term was up I tried to cancel with them over the phone. Although they said they would cancel they never did. When I was re-billed for $250 for the next year I called them up and was told that I never canceled and had to do it online they also told me that they would not refund my money. In effect they have stolen $250 from me. I have spoken to 2 managers who all simply say that they will not refund this money.

NEVER USE MyHosting.com. They are greedy and a scam.

Here is there response
Good afternoon Steven,

Thank you for your patience. The manager has decided that no refund will be granted as the renewal order is outside of our 30 day money back guarantee policy. A credit has been applied to the account which can be used towards future services. Our acceptable use policy outlined the refund policy during the signup process; there will be no exceptions made.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. We can be reached 24/7 at [protected] or via live chat from our website (http://myhosting.com/).

Kind Regards,

Kimberley

Hi Andrew,

This is specific to Windows VPS on Hyper-V, up and until the last month when this issue began with the cluster, our uptime for this product was meeting 99.98%. This issue of late has been one single issue which we have Microsoft Premium support working side by side with us to correct. We’ve begun migrating affected VPS’ off of the cluster which will correct these issues until they can be completely resolved.

We completely understand, however, that it is absolutely crucial for Microsoft to deliver a permanent resolution to this ongoing problem. Please rest assured that we hold our partners accountable for the commitments they made, and we are confident that Microsoft’s team will do everything possible to address the issues once and for all.

Myhosting is one of the worst hosting companies out there. If you ever call, you can only speak to a representative, never any engineers regarding Emergency issues, such as servers shutdowns.

We have recently setup a VPS "cloud solution" for one of our clients POS system for all of their Atlanta Stores. In the last month (December), there have been two major outages. The first one was for 7 hours and the more recent one is still down (6 hours and counting with no eta on being back up). With the VPS down, our client cannot complete ANY transactions, check inventory, run reports etc. Thousands of dollars were lost in the first outage. We are unable to communicate with our client why this is the 2nd time this has happened in just 2 weeks, and what fail-safes we [myhosting.com] will have in place so this does not happen again. Our clients are more than upset. In addition to the outage, Myhosting does not have any backups of our SQL server, an ETA of the repairs. Just simply telling us they are very sorry for the inconvenience. "I'm sorry" does not work in a business setting. No one cares. When you're sorry, we're losing money.

Myhosting's focus is on marketing and not service, hence the mass Google adwords marketing campaigns. Try contacting them, and see if you can have any engineers or system administrators answer questions regarding VPS servers, Dedicated Servers, etc. You can only communicate with representatives that put you on regular hold times. Try contacting myhosting and ask to speak to a supervisor, and they will state they are with other clients. I have never spoken to a manager on the phone in the 3 years with Myhosting. During to these recent events, we have found another company that can provide us with the services we need, and are willing to pay for. Over the next month, we will be transitioning our 300+ domains, exchange email accounts and VPS servers to another company. This will be a very painful and long migration, but one that has to be completed in order to retain current clients and minimize downtime.

My hosting.com has scammed me as well. They preach about their 30 day refund but when you request it they claim your a prior customer and won't deal with that notion. Even if you've called in ahead of time to ask that your allowed a refund as they will tell you you are and then ask you to terminate your services manually and once you do they keep the money and have a few choice words for their customers when confronted with their underhanded tactics. I'm forced to wait until PayPal weighs on this and failing that I'll have to file a. Chargeback one my credit card. Such a hassle.

All domains are set to auto-renew so that customers do not lose their domain name come renewal time; this is a common practice among many domain registration providers. There was a time frame in which you could turn off auto renewal, but unfortunately once the domain name is renewed it can not be undone and you own that domain name for another year.

Do you have any outstanding tickets with myhosting.com? If so please provide the ticket so that I can take a look to see if there is anything that I can suggest.
