Filled out an application for credit. This company charged 29.99 to my checking account after I never went through with it. When I found out, I called them and they said I something about I got approved and they would send a card that I could shop online with. Why would I want a credit card that I could just order things online for. Beware of these scam artists.

Yes I have had £19.99 taken from my bank account for a subscription I knew nothing about or agreed to by Mango Money.
I had been applying for a small payday loan online and guess this may be where they picked up information. The first I heard about them was when I received an email that .said they were unable to charge me for my Mango Money subscription and would try later.
I responded on 10th March that I had no idea who they were and had not subscribed to anything and asked them to unsubscribe whatever it was and not to attempt to deduct money from my account again.. No reply back and found out this morning that they had just taken the money anyway.
Crooks would be my polite word for these people and I'm really unhappy that people like this get away with just taking money out of peoples accounts without any agreement.
Also anyone looking for a payday loan be aware of all the brokers online that direct you to sites like this - I'm really hacked off as I needed the money they took this morning. ###...sorry but that is the way I feel at the moment.

my son had been charged £19.95 from his account by this company after only searching to view for a l o a n online, I don't know were they got his info from but obviously they found it from somewhere, he then contacted them to enquire who they were and about the charges he had received to be told he will not be refunded his money, I'm totally gobsmacked how these company's get away with what they do this was his last bit of money for the week for his petrol etc. for work leaving him overdrawn, be aware of this company as the saying goes if somethings too good to be true it usually is!

I have tried unsuccessfully to obtain funds which were placed in a Mango Money Master Card account.
1. Checking my online acct info at mangomoney.com I found they had my old address but no way to update online. Following instructions, I called the toll free customer support line. I was told to file a change of address with the USPS and call back the next business day. I explained that i had moved two years ago and the fwd address had expired.
2. After calling back and again verifying the account information, I was told that the account is closed with zero balance, and that the service agent could not update my address. I was told to file a change of address with the USPS and call back the next business day. I explained that i had moved two years ago and the fwd address had expired.
3. After inquiring about when this happened I was told that a check was sent in the first week of November 2015 to my old address. I asked the service agent to request cancelation of the check since it had been more than 3 weeks, and the agent said they needed to wait for the check to be returned to the company first. I was told to file a change of address with the USPS and call back the next business day. I explained that i had moved two years ago and the fwd address had expired.
4. After calling back the next day, I again verified the account information and demanded that my address be updated, the previous check to be canceled and a replacement check to be sent ASAP. I was told to file a change of address with the USPS and call back the next business day. I explained that i had moved two years ago and the fwd address had expired.
5. After calling back the next day (today) I was told for the replacement check the company has to wait for the original check to be returned; I was told to file a change of address with the USPS and call back the next business day. I explained that i had moved two years ago and the fwd address had expired. I was told to file a change of address with the USPS and call back the next business day. I explained that i had moved two years ago and the fwd address had expired.

I pressed in for more information and was told that the financial institution is REV, the customer service is based in the Philippines; which was explained at first to be Asia; and previously the financial institution was First Trust Bank in Texas, except the on hold recording at the toll free number indicated the MasterCard was issued by a bank in North Dakota and the program was canceled but patrons could apply for a Mango Visa Card.

5. After again notifying the customer service agent (Emmy) that my address was changed on the account and to send another check for the previous balance on my account, I was told to file a change of address with the USPS and call back the next business day. I explained that i had moved two years ago and the fwd address had expired,

My Mango Mastercard account was also closed on 9/30/2015 due to the switch to Visa. I called on 10/15 and was told a check for my balance would be mailed within 2-4 weeks of the account closing. I called again on 11/2/2015 and was told they were experiencing delays in mailing out checks and I could expect my check by the end of the month. Assuming I get my check by the end of November, that's 2 months that I am unable to access my funds, and that's assuming they don't experience any more "delays".

My Mango Mastercard account has been closed since 9/30/2015 and now it's blocked. I called Mango Mastercard on 10/31 and rep said it's been discontinued. The rep told me they don't have a date when a check will be mailed out, but they will notify me either by phone or email as soon as the check is processed. Sounds like MM is a scam and we should take actions. If you know a recourse we can take, please let us know.

I called Mango Mastercard to close my account on 9/15/15, and the agent closed the account told me that i should receive the refund check by Oct 15, 2015, but I haven't gotten anything yet, and when I called to check the status, they told me the check was mailed out on 10/9/15, I waited till 10/20/15, and called again, a lady name rachel told me there's no way to check the time frame, no way to check when it was mailed out, and no way they can even place a stop payment on the check, I'll just have to wait, so I called again the next day, I got Rachel again and she told me the check was mailed out on 10/15/15 and I have to wait another 2-4 weeks. Thats fine, I don't mind to wait, but the problem is, they told me that the customer service phone line for Mango Mastercard will be discontinued by the end of the year, so what if I wait another 2-4 weeks and still don't get it, who should I contact at that point?

Mango customer service call center is located in the Philippines. If you do not want to call the Philippines, call mangos management company Praxell at 855.515.2273 and you will be able to speak with someone who can actually help you. They are located in New York. The bank that they deal with is Sunrise Banks located in St. Paul Minnesota and their number is 651.265.5600. When you call Praxell at the 855 number, a guy named Burton helped me. If you need to email praxell please contact andrew at andrewe@praxell.com.

Hope this helps.

It is now September 18th and my second direct deposit was posted this morning since this ordeal started. I still dont have access to any of my money. Since my previous post, i have contacted the Better Business Bureau in hopes to raise awareness about the shady illegal activities of this company. I have read that a bank cannot prevent you from accessing your money for more than 10 days. Well going on 22 days now i am certainly feeling the ill effects of not being able to pay bills and buy things. I will probably get fired because i cant drive to work. Im out of laundry detergent and now just ate the last three eggs in the fridge. My freezer is empty and bills are piling up. Sunrise bank located in St Paul Minnesota and Mango Money is responsible for all this.

On Aug 31, mango switched over from MasterCard to a visa card. That's all fine and dandy. But here starts the issues. Because I only use the phone app to access my account, I did not receive any notice that I had to order the new card until I got an email on Aug. 25th. So I logged into my account from my tablet and that is where I was then able to order my new visa card. Once I ordered my new card, it stated it would take 7 to 10 business days to arrive and that any direct deposit would be rejected until the new card was activated. I called my payroll department and they told me that once the direct deposit gets refused, they would mail me a check within 3 days. However, my direct deposit was accepted my Mango and since i didn't have the new visa card yet, I had no access to MY MONEY. It is now September 16 and I still do not have the new visa card and I still have no access to MY MONEY. I am so pissed and angry right now. Over the past 3 weeks, calling customer service EVERY DAY, I have been lied to, hung up on, put on hold up to 57 minutes, and I can not even be transferred to a supervisor because they refuse to transfer me. They have escalated numerous issues to an "account specialist" promising me a call back within 48 hours but that never happens. Because I don't have access to MY MONEY, all my bills are late including my rent. I have no food, no gas in my car, my phone will get shut off tomorrow (which the rep was happy to hear cause I will not be able to call customer service anymore) and I am facing over 200 dollars in late fees. My Netflix got shut off, my cable will get turned off on Friday and I got an eviction notice to vacate by the end of this month. I finally told the rep today that I did want want him to say "I'm sorry" again because sorry doesn't get me to work and sorry doesn't pay my bills. This is a very unethical company to deal with. I can not believe that they treat customers so bad and NO ONE seems to care. This type of behavior truly seems illegal and I pray that no one else has to go through this.

Wow, all these issues people are having is crazy. I guess Mango is taking money from other people and paying the 6% interest to others. I actually opened a mango account and was going to use it to hold some of my capital because 6% interest is really good. Heck it's even better then most CD's or money markets, IRA's etc. Then after opening my account I found out there was a $3.00 monthly fee for a checking account or something like that and it's the savings account that pay's the 6% interest. You can't have a savings without the checking. I was like really that's lame. Therefore, I called customer service the same day I opened the account and closed my account. Plus verified that the account was closed and I would not be charged the $3.00 fee. It appears it was wise of me to not deposit some capital in that account. You should all join Matt in a class action suit against Mango. Also, you should all file a complaint with the OCC and see if Mango Financial, Inc is actually FDIC insured. I went on the FDIC web site and Mango Financial, INC can not be found. MANGO if your reading this and I hope you do. Give us your FDIC certificate #. Then people can really find out if your FDIC insured. By clicking this federal gov link. https://www2.fdic.gov/idasp/main.asp In addition, here is another way some of you may have an outlet to get your money. Contact: First Bank & Trust, Brookings, SD it is that federal accepted bank that has partnered with Mango on this venture. The savings account deposits are supposed to be held on deposit at that bank. Possibly that's how your deposits are FDIC insured.

I hope those of you that have gotten scammed by Mango find a way to get Mango shut down. Why because they are growing by the day. Especially, if they are truly taking peoples money and scamming. It needs to be stopped ASAP.

Good luck to everyone

Dealt with a complete ### on the phone earlier. This woman had "um" trolling out of her mouth every 5 seconds, asked for my details (such as name, card #, etc.) at least 3 times each, and kept putting me on hold for over 15 minutes coming back every few saying, "i'm still reviewing your account." I have a card not even two months old because I lost my last one, used it fine for several weeks and was now getting, "invalid card/error" at different retailers looking like an idiot. I log in to my Mango account online and it says the card is Active. This idiot says, "well, umm..yeah..ummmmm..well. It's on the merchant's end." Really, huh? 5 different retailers must all be having problems?

Now with a pay day a day away, I'm stuck waiting for a new card for 10 days with bills to pay and money that I can't do a damn thing with. "Can you put a rush on the card?" "Umm.. well.. ummmmm, no, sorry, ummm we don't do that."

I have always had awesome experiences with Mango customer service, they must be lowering their standards and hiring complete idiots now. Thank you for wasting a half hour of my lunch break.

Mango Card is a scam. Didn't use the card for four months and was charged each month. When I want to close the card, they refused to send me the balance by check. They claimed my identity can not be verified after sending my ID and my Utility Bill.
They are scammers...BEWARE!

I have had my Mango card now for about 4 years, I have had no issues and no complaints with it. I have my pay check directly deposited on it every week, and now my wife has it which is perfect. We are able to transfer money back and forth to each other from our smart phones with no problems. We both love it. Just yesterday I was shopping and i realized I didn't have enough money on my Mango card. I texted my wife and she put 200 bucks on my card without leaving our living room. 200 bucks showed up on my card within mins. We also pay all of our bills using our cards and we now have moved all of our savings over to the cards. After 4 years with no issues we trust the Mango card completely. We have totally gotten rid of our bank and replaced it with Mango. I am now able to load take pictures of checks with my smart phone and it loads directly onto my Mango card. I love my Mango card..

I have been a customer of Mango for over 4 years and never had a problem until yesterday. I received an alert on my phone and noticed .33 debit charge was made on my card from a Residence Inn in Greenville, GA mid afternoon. I was wondering how was that possible when I was sitting in my home in Michigan. I thought I would call Mango once I got to my destination. On my way to a anniversary party for my sister, I had to stop to purchase some items from the beauty supply store and then I went to a gas station, when another alert came on my phone stating $50.00 was debited from my card in Miami, Florida however, the amount deducted from my balance was at least 85.00. I immediately pulled over and begun to call Mango Customer Service. While waiting to speak to someone, another $50.00 was deducted from account from Miami, Florida. Once again how is this possible when I have my card in my possession right here in Detroit, MI and just used it. I finally got someone on the phone and after 21 questions of my identity, she finally asked how can she help me. I explained to the young lady what had happen and she kept asking me did I authorized purchase, after repeatedly stating her no...thats why I called. She then stated for me to call the merchant and have them send a form to return funds and/or I will not get my money back until June 2nd 2014 if it was a mistake. After going back and forth, I demanded to speak with her Supervisor. She placed me on hold to only come back and say she would give me the number of the merchant and for me to call on a 3-way call and she would explain what they need to do. This was unacceptable, Mango should be calling the merchant, not me. Further, shut my card down, since that option wasn't even proposed to me. She finally shut down my card and less than 5 minutes later my card was used again for $1.00 which turn my balance into a 75.00 minus the balance. I stated something must be wrong with your systems since conversion because not only I have unapproved debits made on my account but your systems is not showing correct balances of deductions . The whole time speaking with Customer Service, we both seem to be speaking a foreign language to each other as we both was not getting anything accomplished. Finally, after demand to speak to her Supervisor AGAIN...I was placed on hold AGAIN. Finally a supposed Super came on the phone and stated the same thing the Rep stated. Only thing different she stated is if the money is placed back into my account, I have to file a dispute..."WTF? REALLY>>>WOW!" I am so frustrated and upset. I have over 150.00 just taken or missing from me that I have to wait until June 2nd and its May 25th. I need my money...I have bills to pay...

Mango phone card is a scam. I bought 6 cards at $2 each. Scratched to reveal pin and use only to be told by the automated system that pin is invalid. I tried all six cards worth 12 bucks down the drain. I called the customer care number at [protected] and was asked to leave a message. I am still waiting to have 6 cards credited. I am taking this further. Mango phine card is a scam and must be shut down

I have had my mango card for three years, and have loved it except when having to deal with customer service. I feel brain cells being sucked out just being on the same phone line as them. I have tried for two years to get my address changed with no luck. And today they cancelled my card and I still don't know why. My pay gets direct deposited on there and I was just told that I can not get another one for two weeks. And that is assuming they can manage to get it to the right address. Switching to regions. I have had enough.

Mango Financial, Inc. (Mango Prepaid) is run by a bunch of crooks. The card itself works very well and the low fees are great. But if you do anything, and that means ANYTHING to bring up a flag you will have to deal with their fraud department. These are the most deceitful, unprincipled, shameless group of people you will probably ever have to deal with. I have tried almost every prepaid card out there. And like everything in life there are some good ones and some that are just horrible. But this company is in a whole other category. Here's one of many examples.
I had to dispute a fraudulent charge that was made on my card. Went to their website and did everything they wanted. I cancelled the card and was told to fill out and return a bunch of forms. I was given a PO Box address to mail everything to and once I sent them off I waited for a response. Weeks later I called and asked on the progress of my dispute. They said they had no record of the documents they requested. I told them I had mailed them out weeks ago. They proclaimed to never of gotten the documents. Upon further research this company either gave me an old PO box address that is no longer active or just plain gave me the wrong address to send my forms. I checked with the Post Office and they confirmed that they were not located at the address I was given. I'm absolutely shocked a company would have such poorly trained staff or even worse, purposely give false information. After sending the documents to an address I had found online they finally started on my dispute. When I finally did get the funds returned to my card they quickly put a hold on my account for review. I could no longer access to my funds or even my account online. I was given no explanations and whenever I asked to speak with someone else I was put on hold and eventually hung up on. I no longer wanted to deal with them so I sent a certified letter telling them to close my account and send me a check for my balance. I get a response telling me they cannot close my account while its being reviewed. Six months later they finally unblock my account but as soon as they do I'm charged for all the monthly fees that accrued while the account was on hold. And all these other fees I have never even heard of and are not explained in their terms of use agreement. I guess they really do feel like they can do what ever they want with our money and not answer to anyone. It reminds me a lot of the online poker sites from a few years back, Full tilt and PokerStars, I wouldn't be surprised if this company ended up just like those did. Having their website shut down by the Department of Justice for fraud and these crooks running off and stealing millions of dollars of other peoples money.
I have never dealt with a more despicable company than Mango Prepaid. I guess if you have ever asked yourself what the catch is for all the free service and low fees, its that they do not conduct business like other professional companies. All they want is your money and if they don't feel like giving it back there is absolutely nothing we can do about. They act and pretend to be like the other big prepaid companies, American Express, Greendot, Walmart moneycard ect, but it's all just a front.

Just signed up for a mango prepaid card. Right on their website they advertise
> No sign up fee
> No card shipping and handling fees
> No activation fee
> No card to card online transfer fee
Yet as soon as I finished their online form my account is automatically debited $5 and I get a message that the only way they will send me my card is if I deposit a moneypak for $20 through their virtual card service. I have never heard of another prepaid card service doing this. No sign-up fees... yeah right.

Hey Mango,
The guy wasn't trying to get his problems resolved by you. Look at the last thing that was written.. BE CAREFUL! Do you think that was for you? Thanks for the heads up James Crow. I was wondering how they could offer a 6% APY savings account for free. They make it extremely easy for us to give them our money but it's a completely different story when it comes to spending it. I will stay with the brick and mortar banks for now. At least if I have an issue I can go there and talk to someone face to face. I couldn't imagine someone hanging up the phone on me when I was trying to fix a problem I have with the account. It seems Mango makes its own rules on how it handles other people money. On top of that, I don't see any other recourse available to us for assistance besides their 800 #. Unacceptable in my book.

Attn: Team Mango,

I have spent almost a full year trying to resolve this and have gotten absolutely nowhere. To be honest, I have already given up on the idea of getting MY MONEY back from your company. The only reason I'm posting on this board is to share my personal experiences in the hope that others will not put themselves in the same position I am in. I have absolutely no interest in spending one more minute on the phone with your "customer service" department. Furthermore, I do not wish to be contacted by you or anyone associated with your company. I have no plans on contacting Mango Prepaid ever again. I have spent enough of my time and energy trying to resolve this. I give up.. you guys win. You can keep my money but I will tell my story to whom ever will listen.

One last thing.. Instead of trolling the customer complaint boards why don't you focus on helping the customers before we get to this point? In my case I've had just enough of this...it's just too little, too late.

Anyways..good luck all.

For no reason they froze my account and when asked why they said somebody tried to log into my account so they blocked the card. I asked how is that my problem that somebody tried to access my account, I still want my money, to what they responded they will keep the money and there is nothing I can do about it. I asked what is their address and they gave me P.O Box address. How legit is that?

I had a similar experience. My card was suddenly blocked, they requested information from me, I sent a copy of my ID and a utility bill, which are perfectly accurate, and then they said a few days later that the card is closed and I could not receive a refund of over $400. I mean, they actually are keeping this money and there’s nothing I can do about it, according to them.

Mango prepaid is a complete scam! I received my school refund onto my Mango card and went to pay some bills but my card kept declining. I called and they said they had restricted my account. I have had this card for almost 2 years and never had one problem. I sent in my ID like they requested and I kept calling to follow up. After calling and calling they told me they decided to close my account and that my account was NOT eligible for a check refund! Now my money is stuck in there and I have no clue how to get it back. I even went a step further and sent them my school documents about my refund. I hope that I can find out something soon. How can they keep your money?

Mango Mastercard is indeed a scam. They debited my card $5 when I signed up!
So when I put money on it about a month later and started using the card, they charged me another monthly fee! I called them and spoke with two supervisors who refused to refund me for the month I never used or loaded money to my card. They plainly scammed me and said they will continue to charge me even if I don't use my card! They take from the poor in the name of corporate greed! I will do everything in my power to get this company shutdown!

Did you pay at the pump? Some gas stations make sure you have a certain amount on your card, and charge that amount and put it back on. If you go inside and ask for a certain amount, if you have the funds, you should have no problems. I have used mango for almost a year with no fees. I get cash back from stores, not atms. I load at least 500 dollars a month so I don't get charged the 5 bucks. Mango does not affect your credit. Mango is the best care I've used so far. Even better than banks. Banks are scams! They charge outrageous fees for overdrafts and mango doesn't allow you to use money you don't have.

DO NOT GET MANGO MONEY CARD! I have had this card and have had nothing but trouble with it. Sometimes they will restrict access to your card with out even contacting you about it, I found out I could not use my card when I was at a gas station with NO gas, I didn't have any physical cash one me and it was a complete hassle and inconvenience to go through. so if your stuck some where need gas money or food or some sort of emergency don't count on getting your OWN money anytime you want. If they decide to close your count they will also not inform you about it, they will keep your money for 8-10 weeks and charge you a $10 processing fee to get a check for the remaining balance sent to your address. Mango Money Card is a joke and in my eyes thief's! Please help to spread the word about this horrible company and card!

What in the world are you talking about? Mango prepaid MasterCard is 100% legit. There have been great articles about Mango in Fast Company Magazine and recently on CNN Money. I have a Mango Card and love it. I used to have a Netspend and GreenDot card, but their fees were too high. Mango's fees are super low. I signed up fir direct deposit and get cash back at grocery stores - so I pay NO FEES. LOL to them.

By the way, thir website says funds are FDIC insured. Also says they do NOT share info with anyone outside company and their bank.

@robbed: you were likely linked to Mango from a third party marketing site. Next time, don't pay someone to find you a product - find it yourself and save the fee. ;0)
