Wendy Carter sold me two adult females for $3, 600. I sent her a deposit for $1, 800 and she said she would ship the dogs in two to three weeks. After waiting a month, she told me it would be another four to five weeks before the dogs would ship. Since she was unable to deliver as promised, I asked for my deposit back. She got really nasty with me. She put the dogs back up for sale and received a deposit from someone else for the dogs, yet she would not send my deposit back because she had already spent their deposit and of course my deposit. After several weeks of e-mails, she finally sent me $1, 000 (which she borrowed from her mom) and told me I would get the rest when the dogs were picked up by the new buyers. It has been over two months, the dogs are gone, my money is gone, and Wendy Carter will not answer my telephone calls, texts, or e-mails. She is a breeder of Newfoundland puppies.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
This woman is a total liar ! She backed out of buying 2 dogs from me. I told her that I would only check out transportation. I made numerous calls to ground transporters and they were all booked solid for 6-- 8 weeks out. Not my fault. Delivery was not promised. She said she could drive and pick up only one of the two dogs she bought, but I sold them as a pair, not to be separated. Had she waited for the availability of the transporters she could have had them delivered. It was NOT my fault that the availability for delivery was not in her time frame. She should have checked all that out before she bought 2 dogs that were 800 miles away from her. I was NEVER nasty with her as I only spoke with her one time on the phone. All communication was done through emails. She is the one who got very nasty and threatening with me since I could not get the dogs delivered to her in her time frame. It is the buyers responsibility to get transportation for adult dogs, I only told her in the beginning that I would check it out, never promising anything. She clearly backed out of the sales agreement. All the breeders that I told this to said that she owes me for the 2 dogs she backed out of buying and I do not owe her anything. When the breeders back out then the deposit is refunded. Breeders do not give a refund when the buyer backs out. I never backed out of selling this woman my dogs, she backed out because she could not get them delivered. I tried to hook her up with delivery for her time frame, but I couldn't and it was not promised.
