I signed Up for personal training in April of 2023. I agreed to a 3 month session and paid the total sum upfront instead of setting up Auto Pay which I was told I could do without a problem. The trainer sat at the desk, turned the screen to me, showed me all the information, and then told me to sign. I did so and then we went to the front desk for me to pay. I purposely Used a separate card to pay for the personal training due to me having gone through a recent divorce and certain finances were not to be shared under the bank account I have on file for my membership monthly fees. The trainer could not run the card so the person at the front desk did without a problem. At this time, I am assuming what I had agreed upon was what would happen and that the process of charging me the fees went smoothly without a problem.

It is now October 11th, and I am just realizing I am getting high charges from Vasa. Come to find out that after speaking to a member services rep in chat online and the Vasa manager at my gym that those charges are for personal training fees that are auto deducted WITH THE BANK ACCOUNT I HAVE ON FILE FOR MY MEMBERSHIP FEES. I never Once authorized them to use my bank card to pay for any personal training fees, IN FACT, I was clear that I was paying it up front and on a different card due to needing to keep things separate for bank tracking purposes.

After chatting online with a member service rep, going into the office to speak with a manager (who has only been there two weeks to clean up the messes that we’re going on at this Vasa Gym), and then calling the member services number that this manager gave me, I have been told that VASA will NOT be refunding me the remaining money they stole from my bank account without my permission because THEY made the mistake to not remove the auto pay on day one and I signed the contract with my bank information showing on the contract…..I clearly made a payment using a separate card yet because THEY have the contract that shows my bank account information on file….THAT THEY AUTOMATICALLY ADD TO EVERY CONTRACT, they will not refund me my money. They also said I had to cancel within 30 days of canceling but they did me a favor and waived that l. Cancelling was not even something I thought I would ever have to worry about because I paid up front using a separate card, why would I call to cancel something that I never set up? I wanted To speak with someone directly from corporate management and the lady from member services said she will call me back after she reviews it further. I have Yet to receive a phone call.

Desired outcome: I want a FULL REFUND of the personal training charges that were auto deducted from my bank account without permission from July 2023 until present day.
