Food Lion

I was checking out at the FoodLion in Oak Ridge NC. I was reaching to take my bag about the same time the cashier was putting it down and she accused me of getting in her face and started going on about her anxiety and that she couldn't handle people reaching for their bags.

Her name is Rachael and she is a tall dark curly haired woman maybe in her 30's - 40's? She had darker skin than me but did not appear to be completely black.

I said it was curious how the younger generations are all about their anxiety, and then she got very indignant with me accusing me of disrespecting her.

I didn't say anything disrespectful, was merely acknowledging the fact that it seems to be a younger generational thing to have lots of anxiety. I work in a college, and am seeing a lot of this with the younger students.

Then she claimed to be as grown up as I am, (I'm 78 years old), she hasn't lived nearly half of the life I've lived and completely disagree with her, however I chose to write you folks about the actions of your employee instead.

She obviously cannot handle a cashier job without stressing out. Perhaps she needs customer care training or something. I will take my business elsewhere if I have to keep dealing with this type of attitude from her if & when I go back to that store.
