I use ARCB and selected Roadrunner as my service provider. On Monday I put the collection hours as 1:30 to 4:30 and the shipment was not collected as scheduled. On Tuesday I called ARCB at about 1:30 and they called Roadrunner. They said Roadrunner had two stops to make and would pick up before 4:30. I am writing this so you know they did not make that collection. I called on Wednesday and ARCB called Roadrunner and said that Roadrunner attempted a collection at 12:50 on Tuesday, during our lunch hour when no one was here. I looked at the cameras and there was a Penske truck here at 12:30. I was assured that Roadrunner would make the collection before 4PM on Wednesday. Obviously not. I called just before 4PM and was told that Roadrunner cancelled the collection because the product we are shipping can be damaged in shipping. Roadrunner would have known this before accepting the BOL. Roadrunner would not have promised to collect the shipment if his was an issue. My guess is that there was no driver to collect the package on the third day and they did not have the testicular fortitude to be honest and made up some BS. Roadrunner shipped the same product to the same customer before and we have never filed a damage claim with any carrier.
Claimed loss: Provided poor service to my customer and will have to arrange the shipment with another carrier. Roadrunner never communicated with us in any way. We called ARCB from the number on the BOL.
Desired outcome: DO BETTER! DO NOT BS YOUR CUSTOMERS!
