I too was taken by these scammers. I cancelled within a half hour and requested a refund, well thats not going to happen. I subsequently found their abuse has been going on for YEARS and have documented HUNDREDS of complaints and started the website https://www.ultimate-guitar-sucks.com/ in hopes of getting enough victims together to file a class action suit against them for their misdeeds.

In August 2022 I subscribed to a annual subscription at $99,99. In July 2023 I received a notification that the next subscription payment would be due on the 17th of August 2023. I immediately cancelled my itunes subscription which is confirmed on my app. On the 17th of August 2023 Ultimate Guitar tried to debit my account with the subscription luckily the account did not have funds. On the 7th of September 2023 UG debited my account with $7 (looks like one month subscription), I applied for refund via itunes. Today on 14 September 2023 UG AGAIN debited my account with $99,99. This is so bad.

So, I signed up for Ultimate Guitar a while ago and just recently realized that they had been charging me every year without even sending me an email to confirm it! Not cool, right? But then when I tried to cancel my subscription, it was like they were trying to hide the button or something. The whole process was so confusing and tangled up that I literally almost gave up on it - and I'm pretty tech-savvy!

Honestly, I think this is a really underhanded way of running a business. You're basically relying on people forgetting about their subscriptions to keep making money off them! And then you make it super hard for them to stop the payments when they do remember. It's just not right.

That being said, I will say that the actual website and app are decent. I mean, there's a lot of good guitar tabs on there, so if you're into that sort of thing then it might be worth checking out.
