It is peculiar how a small estate planning firm has decided to position itself as a full-service law firm, and hire a former government lawyer with very poor skills to launch a securities and broker dealer compliance practice. Sylvia Scott represented our small public company in connection with SEC compliance issues. Other than the shockingly high bill from Freeman Freeman & Smiley, there was nothing that stood out with Sylvia Scott. She had to research the most basic issues - the kind legal questions that our general counsel (3 years out of law school) knew from the top of his head. The bottom line is that we made a poor choice in lawyers (and law firms) - an expensive lession for next time.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
SOunds like a bad recommendation. should have checked several references, and not just former clients provided by Freeman or Sylvia M. Scott.
We also did not have a good experience with Syliva M. Scott and her law firm Freeman Freeman & Smiley.
I worked with Sylvia Scott at a government agency. She was the dumbest and the least motivated lawyer I had come across. She was extremely rude to the staff and to her co-workers. All I can say is that generally people don:t change. I feel sorry for her clients, if she has any.
Court records reflect the absence of any litigation or court proceeding in which this attorney represented the individual author of the complaint or any associated company. State bar records similarly reflect the absence of any client complaints or litigation. The more likely scenario would suggest that the author happens to be a disgruntled adverse party displeased with the effectiveness of this attorney’s representation. Nearly all of the comments likely originate from the same source as evidenced by certain similarities in use of language and other relevant factors. For example, the authors clearly attempt to influence search engine algorithms by using SEO techniques such as unnecessarily repeating proper names.
Self serving comment by a weak lawyer with as much credibility or less than the critical reviews that she is attempting to influence. Talk to her former Clients to get the full story before you waste your money and time.
