Sydash Constuction Deland FL review: Home building

​We purchased a home to be built starting April 2021 and finally finished June 2022 in DeLand, FL. The builder positioned a realtor to be the contact which led to a lack of communication or delayed communication to the builder causing house plans to be finalized before homeowners approval, causing changes to plans homeowners did not want. Before we were issued a Certificate of Occupancy, the contractor left the country and did not finish our job. We commissioned an Independent Home Inspection that revealed 66 errors in the building of our home. Among these the first and largest is that we could not occupy our home without moving the septic tank and repairing plumbing drainage because it backed up into the house. Causing the bedroom floor to be torn out, pipes lowered, and septic lowered to match for proper drainage.

All outside doors were unlevel, with large gaps. All inside door knobs were for outside doors (with a key for each). Many cabinets and drawers were unlevel with drawers falling apart when opened, and hardware missing. Several cabinets were to be replaced due to painting mishap and hardware replaced. This was discussed with the builder but never fixed.

All of the windows were caulked outside and drain holes painted over, causing rain water to back up onto window sills. The Over The Stove Microwave had metal venting jammed into the motor of the microwave, preventing the microwave from working. After further inspection by appliance repair service, the venting was found to be cosmetic only, and not vented to the outside.

This is just a few of the many errors we have to fix making us pay for this house for what feels to be a second time.
