AMBER CALLS POLICE ON NEW EMPLOYEES

Super Value Carpet Cleaning Scam

Complaint letter to Employment Standards:
Super Value Carpet Cleaning
564 Osborne St, R3L 2B4
Winnipeg, Manitoba

I sent in a resume and was called in for an interview with
Amber, who told him that she will be hiring the 2nd week in September
On September 4th, Tuesday 348pm Homad her assistant called and left
a message for training to start Thursday September 6 at 5:45pm
The room was very loud and noisy and the wood paneling was echoeing
the sounds, all night I had complaints, people I was calling telling
me that they couldn't hear a word I was saying because of the echoes
in the background.
Super Value Carpet Cleaning wants 12 call backs a night but I barely
managed to get 6 because no one could hear me, and I had lots of
hang ups because of this.
When I told Homad, my trainer and Amber of this problem, thery told me to
just continue working. It was very frustrating and unfair to make me continue
in that manner. At the end of the shift in her office Amber in her office told
me that I was fired for not reaching 12 call backs, and that she saw that I
was frustrated.
Outside the office at her desk after being fired I asked about my money and
picking up my pay cheque. She told me to write my info on a piece of paper.
When I told her that she was being unfair, she said "I will take this piece
of paper and throw it in the garbage", from there she said "leave or I will
call the police".

I am asking for 3 hours pay at $10.00 an hour for Thursday September 6 for
6pm to 9pm worked.

This Super Value Carpet Cleaning is very unprofessional in their training and
has broken telephones and headsets. My headset was broken, the mouthpiece was
hanging way below my chin, and their prices for carpet cleaning, duct cleaning,
furnace cleaning and furniture cleaning was so over priced people that people
knew and on the phone everyone was saying "no thank you"

I am asking for $30 for 3 hours pay at $10 an hour to pick up at The Government
Labor office 604-401 York Ave Winnipeg, since Amber threatened me with the police.

Good Afternoon Trristtann,

I'm sorry for the delay in my response, your concern on the complaints board has just been brought to my attention. I am also truly sorry if you had a negative experience with our company or any of our staff. I can assure that you one of our office mantras is to 'kill with kindness', and obviously that did not occur if you got the impression that you did. Again I am truly sorry about your experience and would love the opportunity to discuss your experience further over the phone. Please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Amber

Rude. Very rude people with no phone etiquette. High pressure sales approach calling our house at all hours from a private number. I know it's them but they hang up if you ask who they are. Constantly digging grilling us for information. Shoddy work too, they don't remove the water from the carpet. Did I mention very rude? Not surprised this is a family owned business, that's code for "We do whatever we want". Typical rude Winnipeggers. You want to support a family of rude wolves go right ahead.

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Amber and I am the hiring manager at Super Value and have been for the last 8 years. We have been in business for 24 years this May and are a family owned and operated business. We pride ourselves on the people we employ and having a warm family oriented atmosphere. We find it very regretful that there has been two complaints lodged against us, but I feel that it is important to explain the circumstances to better understand our company.

In the complaint titled 'AMBER CALLS POLICE ON NEW EMPLOYEES" and dated 10-19-2012, it was with a middle-aged man that was showing a lot of outward frustration when dealing with the clients on the phone. When searching for a new employee, we want to make sure that the job is the right fit for the individual as well as for our business. When a potential employee is showing these signs when a client is declining our service we see it as a red flag. We train our staff to build relationships with our clients, and that usually takes time to develop, so it is crucial not to get impatient or frustrated. At the end of the evening I spoke with him privately and indicated that it doesn't appear to be the right fit at this point in time. I always try to be gentle and respectful with people, especially potential employees. I believe that he was not expecting me to tell him that it was not a good fit at this time, but I have to make decisions that are best for the company as a whole. Unfortunately after hearing this news he stood up, started pacing in my office and said that I was disrespecting him. I told him that I'm sorry and that I did not mean to disrespect him, but that I still feel it is the best decision. I asked him to leave the office as I did not feel comfortable being alone with him, especially as he was clearly agitated and acting aggressive. He left my office, but would not leave the main office as he was upset with being let go and wanted to let the remaining employees that were present know about it. He was swearing and aggressive and I told him that if he would not leave, than I would have to call the police to escort him to leave. I have to look out for the safety of myself and my staff and unfortunately that was in question with this man. He did leave after that, and was of course compensated for his time.

In the complaint dated Sept 13, 2013, this could have been any one of the trainees that come through our doors. We do have very specific goals for each employee during their training period, and if they are not able to attain them than they are unfortunately let go. However, this is not a mark again the employee, it is simply that we are looking for people that are a good fit for our company and want to make sure that we are a good fit for them. If they are not able to attain the goals set out for them, or we do not feel that this in an environment where they will be able to learn, grow and succeed, than we have a private conversation with the employee and have an open dialogue.

If you read these complaints or personally have a concern, I urge you to research us on maintained websites that contact the business when there are concerns. We like to deal with concerns promptly and professionally, and unfortunately these concerns were not brought to my attention until I was simply searching our business name on Google. The Better Business Bureau is a third party that acts as a mediator between companies and clients. They keep track of how many concerns were brought to their attention, and how they were dealt with by the company. I also encourage you to check out our Facebook page, our website, and even give us a call and you can ask for me directly. I would love the opportunity to earn your business or talk about employment opportunities.

Hi I just wanted to let everyone know not to work here. They don't pay for training, the staff is really rude and all their equipment is in rough shape. If you don't get 12 call backs you're fired. All the other people I was training with did not reach this 12 call back goal. By going to this interview/shift, you are definitely wasting your time. I also called as a customer one time and the man was talking to me terribly. I do not recommend working there or using there awful over priced businesses.
