I reserved a kitten from Micah on Dec 10. She was difficult to communicate with throughout the time I interacted with her. My family suffered a huge loss this year as we buried my 20 yr old nephew a few months back, he lived in my home and was the best big brother to my children. We have a huge hole in our family and I was hoping to make Christmas still feel special for my other 3 children by providing a loving kitten. Micah knew all this information.
Once I paid my deposit, it was very difficult to get her to do things she said she would do, such as send me a copy of her contract/send me information on the food the kitten was eating etc. Honestly, she should be comforted knowing that I was so interested in taking the best care of this kitten and I needed to be prepared for the kitten arrival. On the phone about a week before I FINALLY reviewed the contract, she told me a few things that are not reflected in her contract. 1. She said that if the cat is vaccinated for rabies that it voids the guarantee... this is fine with me, but it did make me think that I need to see the contract to make sure there is nothing else in the contract that I cannot agree to. When I finally received the contract on 12/20 after telling her that I needed it to make my final payment, nothing about the rabies was in there. 2. I asked her what the health guarantee was as I knew I needed to make a quick vet appointment upon the kittens arrival. Her response was that I did not need to take the cat to the vet for a while because kittens get sick at the vet. Well, In her contract it states that the kitten can be returned for 48 hours due to a major health defect, so of course I would need an appointment to get the cat examined!
Arranging cat delivery was a nightmare. I am an organized person (type A) and Micah told me on phone that she does not make plans and is type B. But once again, I have to get this cat here by Christmas.
Anyway, back to Dec 20, she had a courier who who deliver the cat to Lubbock for me and I was paying a nominal fee to a sweet college boy who was coming home to Dallas for Christmas to bring me the kitten. I had already shipped this boy a cat carrier as on text I asked Micah if she provided a carrier and she said no (I have a copy of this text). On dec 20 in the evening Micah tells me to call her which I do immediately, she says her courier fell through and she cannot get the cat to Lubbock. I am of course shocked because I have everything planned for the kittens arrival, I have rushed this food to my house a, have all kitten gear, and am ready for my cat. She tells me that she has a courier that "might be able to do it on Monday the 23rd" but she would let me know. I did tell her that I really could not spend more on the shipping than I had already planned, and I could not afford another cat carrier as I already bought one. Her response was why did you buy one I have them, but like I said I have the text where she stated that she did not provide the carrier. I was obviously upset As any mom would be, and I did tell her that this was her business and her cats are her product, I think this upset her but this is her business and providing a kitten to a home like mine that would cherish and love the kitten should bring her joy. Yes it is a living thing but for her this is her business!
Well the next thing that happens is that I hear nothing from her and get a Venmo refund. I text and call her, no response. I am sitting in my car crying for a few hours because Christmas is ruined for my children. They have asked for nothing else for Christmas except a kitten. My husband texts her and offers to go get the cat, about 15 hours round trip, I did not know he did this as he said under no circumstances would he do this, but I was so upset. Still NO response, until she saw some reviews go up by me, then she responded. She stated that our Christmas is not ruined and that I already bought another cat. These are lies! Yes I put a deposit on a future litter from a breeder I had talked to before her that had no kittens available, and it will be summer before I actually get a kitten! So no, my kids have nothing for Christmas and this is a year that we needed something special because of our loss. She also threatened to sue my husband, which is comical as he is an attorney and she ruined my Christmas, she has nothing to stand on and I have said nothing that is not 100 percent true. She says things like "go in peace". Not sure what that means to her, as she left 3 sweet children without the one gift they had asked for for Christmas on a year that they needed something special to fill a void in their hearts.
So buyer beware!
