Jennifer conveyed to my husband and myself that the chocolate Chihuahua we were interested in was 7 months old. She had this same info on her website, Rivalt Kennels. However, I was checking out her posts on Facebook and saw the very same photos of the dog, but she stated on FB that the dog was 3 years old. So I asked her a few times about the dog’s age, by email through her website, and each time she said the dog was 7 months old. She wanted $1800 for the dog, so I wanted to be sure of the accuracy of her responses. When I was at the Bank getting the $$, I texted Jennifer once again about the age of the dog and she confirmed the dog was 7 months old. But when we went to get the dog, I pointed out that her posts of the 3 year old dog on FB, were identical to the photos of the 7 month old dog on the Rivalt website. She said that she always used the same photos, because she didn’t have the time to take individual pics of each and every dog. So I glanced at the dog’s papers and saw that the issued date of registration was in 2021. That would have put the dog at 2 years old. When I questioned Jennifer, she said the yes. the dog was older than what she originally said, but that she really needed to unload the dog. We stood in the driveway by our car during all of this, not once in the house or seeing any of the other dogs or their living conditions. We loved the looks of the little dog, so I gave her the $$ and we left. When I got home, I realized that Jennifer had conveniently stapled over the dog’s actual birthdate on the Registration form. The birthdate showed 5/10/2019. That put the dog at 4 years old. But we still wanted the dog so I texted Jennifer and she said she must have been confused, mixing things up with the next customer who was going there for another dog. Hmmmm..that was definitely an intentional screw up on her part. We come to find out that she used a shock collar on this 3 lb dog, as she had scabs and scars on her neck! Jennifer said she would bark & start the other dogs barking. We took the dog to the vet right after we got her, but we have no idea when any shots were given or if flea/tick/hearthgard was administered, we just learned through a fecal exam that the dog has hookworms, so we’ll be treating her for that. When I mentioned to breeder the worms, she said that the dog did not have worms when she sold her to me so the dog contracted the worms while in our care, which didn’t make sense because Jennifer wrote down the de-worming medicine along with the date of July 1, 2023. So that tells all….the dog DID have worms when she sold her to us. When I questioned her on that, she never replied. She said the dog was due for rabies vaccine, but didn’t give us a date of the last dose. Was it 1 yr vaccine or 3 yr vaccine…..? That’s very important, as this dog is very small at only 3 lbs and too much or too often could cause death. We don’t know why but she clearly wanted rid of this dog. Nothing written down. No instructions provided, except that the food given was Pedigree™, which is definitely a sub-par dog food. Even my vet remarked on that: we want the dog, but we were charged way too much for a 4 year old dog, and we were hoodwinked with a few inconsistencies. I’m now at the ER Vet in Bradenton, FL, and the dog is being tested for Parvovirus & any other parasites in her stool. I do not want my $$ back for this dog. We want love the dog, but would request at least a refund of $300-$500, due to the false info & initial vet bills. Also, the woman operates as ‘hobby breeding’, however, she is clearly running a business. So the taxes and other fees should be paid by her, just as with any other business. Buyer Beware.

Desired outcome: Refund of $300-$500.Classify as a business or have only one or 2 dogs if a hobby is wanted.

To put this to rest permanently, here is the link to the complaint she falsified photos. Simply failed to respond to BBB inquiries after that.

The complaint was a lie and the matter closed. You should not believe every complaint you read. Some people just want free goods or services.

Don't worry, we are still selling top quality puppies.

L Petra never bought a dog or puppy from me. Ask him/her to provide a bill of sale or a deposit slip please, because I have no record of this person in my files. So L. Petra, where is your bill of sale or deposit slip from me that you are a "verified customer "? What breed did you purchase? What year? Who were the parents? What litter? Do you have any photos of the canine in question? You cannot simply jump on a bandwagon to destroy an innocent person you've never done business with because it amuses you to do so. Also I will add the initial claim by Susan Fisher was proven fraudulent when she supplied photos of a different customer's dog as her own to the BBB. She got caught and refused to answer any of their inquiries. I'm guessing l. Petra didn't know this either. The actual owner was quite angry about this and contacted me privately. Please post your proof of "verified customer " L. Petra.

This woman allowed the dog to get heatstroke two weeks after owning it and expects Rivalt Kennels to pay the vet bills. That is not covered in her contract. The kennel is not responsible for injury due to improper care on the part of the new owner. She repeatedly broke clauses in the contract including not taking the dog to the vet in the first 48 hours, which voided all her guarantees. Didn't present veterinarian records when asked, instead resorted to name calling. She paid for a healthy 4 year old show quality pedigreed dog and got exactly that, but didn't feel she should have to pay for it. The dog was completely healthy when it left my home, backed by three different veterinarians. My advice is be cautious if you decide to do business with this woman.

So it's OK to LIE, MISREPRESENT, DECIEVE, and BAIT SWITCH people who purchase your dogs. Please ignore my request for information on your website. I would not buy a spent match from you let alone a living creature. I hope these people take everything you have.
