Student Relations, Inc. Marketing Fraud

Recently I was approached by a salesman of Student Relations, Inc trying to get me to advertise in a folder that, I was told, would be given to every student of the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNCA) and every student of Haywood County Schools (school district in North Carolina). No one at UNCA (I spoke with the Director of Marketing, the Director of Student Affairs, the Manager of the Bookstore, and the in house attorney) had heard of the folders being put out, including the representative whose name was given to me by Student Relations, Inc. UNCA informed me that folders were not given out and would not be given out in the future.
The same thing with Haywood County schools. The contacts given to me by student relations either no longer worked at the Haywood County Schools or, I was told by the Superintendant, were not authorized to make marketing decisions on behalf of the schools.

Both UNCA and Haywood County Schools contacted Student Relations, Inc. and informed them that they are not receiving folders and will not give them to students if received. I don't expect this to stop Student Relations, Inc. from continuning to tell local businesses that they have the permission to produce and distribute their student folders.

Same thing happened to me, except I was dumb enough to buy advertising that I never saw and they were quick enough to cash my check. Beware ! When I talked to Lewis, he assured me he would look into it and call back. 2 minutes later he called back saying "told you I would call back, now I am going to by like Freddie, your worst nightmare" I should have filed an official complaint with the athorities, but instead I just filed with the BBB. Do not do business with this company, because indeed they have been my worst nightmare.

Student Relations, Inc. Scam Artists

I too tried working for Student Relations for a little over a month and they are indeed scam artists. I was recently contacted by a business owner with whom I sold a student relations product to and they informed me that they called the school that I was working and they not only had never authorized any such folder for their students, but they also never gave any kind of consent for a folder to be produced for them. What's worse is that when they send you the materials to sell the folder space to businesses, they include a form that is signed by them and "apparently" signed by a representative at the school. This proved to be false and that signatures were forged to try and legitimize their operation.

She went on to say that she contacted Student Relations shortly afterward to try and get her money back and they insulted her and would not cooperate in any way shape or form.

After I realized that this company was a scam, I called and informed them that I was quitting and that I would await my outstanding checks for schools that I had completed. They informed me that my checks were in the mail and should arrive to my home within the week. 2 weeks went by and I called them again to see why I had not gotten my checks. I spoke with Lewis Victor AND Mike Martoe and both said they had never heard of me before and they had no record of me ever working for them. They then proceeded to tell me that I actually owed them money because of an apparent non-compete clause in the pre hire papers. I kept each paper for my records and referenced them again and there was nothing about a non compete clause anywhere. I told them to fax me the copy they had and they said they would do it right now...and they never did.

For anyone considering employment with this company or those businesses considering advertising on the folder itself that they produce, DON'T DO IT! These people are frauds and scam artists.

After trying to get paid for two sales I made, I decided to quit to get my money.I was then told I had to mail back the folders and sales forms to Student Relations Inc. to get paid my money.I'm owed $275. These forms are worth no more than $5.

I then told this clown.Lewis Victor, I would be calling the investigative reporter at WHAS in Louisville, He said he was going to call my mother and tell her I was a pedophile. Needless to say, I was totally blown away. Who does this to employees who go to work for this sham company in good faith. I will be contacting my attorney to see if there is some legal recourse to be taken.

I have to share this story from yesterday. Lewis Victor has not contacted me back or anything in over two weeks. I file a couple complaints and write and email to him stating I am going forward with my pursuit of his scam. He states to me that everyone that has reported him as a scam is just heresay and that it would be like him telling people that I am a child molester like Jerry Sandusky. I told him good luck with that one for multiple reasons. He went on about how they don't owe me anything and that I did not follow the contract, which is not true either. The conversation went on and he then stated I can write somewhere that you moleste you own children. At this point it is personal and as much as the money would help my family, which he stated he ran a credit check on me and I had mortgage issues (duh, why do you think I am so concerned about an insignificant amount like $750.00 after being scammed). It scares me that they have my Social Security Number, it scares me that he gets really personal and thinks he can say whatever he wants.

I was recently contacted by Lewis Victor and asked to work as part of their sales team. During the first phone conversation they already planned on sending me the forms and everything I needed to get started before I even accepted the position. I told them I needed a few days, to research and straighten other job opportunities out, he called me back and asked if I had made a decision yet. When i replied not yet Lewis Victor told me to "go stay at home and watch Oproah & the View and enjoy unemployment". Not only is he rude and childish but he is trying to scam people everywhere into doing his dirty work for a false company while he sits at home basically unemployed watching the View and Oprah banking on recent college grads to hand money over to him.
