All day long I get calls from these people. Every day I can expect several automated calls. I wouldn't be as pissed if they were actually looking for me. They are calling about a room-mate that hasn't lived here in over a decade!!! My former room-mate must have used my number when they lived here to get a loan over a decade ago. I've called their office...

SRA Associates Harassment telephone calls

My name is not Janette Parker, I have been receiving three or four calls a week for this person, I was given this phone number four years ago, and I have been telling this company that I'm not Janette Parker and please stop calling this number, they continued to do so. I asked them if they had this persons social security number, so that they could contact her about her debt, No answer they still just keep calling my phone number, annoying me. Can you believe four years, and they still keep calling.

SRA Associates They've been harassing me for years

These ###s, imbeciles, blockheads with their equally dysfunctional robodialers can't tell that I am a MAN (with a manly voice) that has no idea who the f$%# the WOMAN is (no idea who this person is) that apparently owes them money. They (the idiots at SRA) have been calling me on and off for YEARS. What a bunch of losers!

I will call ClarkHoward.com for advice. He is awesome and suggests others call him for help.

This company violates the the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (also known as Public Laws 95-109 and 99-361) The act states; “ a debt collector may not communicate, in connection with the collection of any debt, with any person other than a consumer, his attorney, a consumer reporting agency if otherwise permitted by law, the creditor, the attorney of the creditor, or the attorney of the debt collector.” They violate the law by calling anyone other than the debtor as quoted above. I inherited a phone number from a debtor and have been constantly harassed by debt collectors ever since. They also violate the Do Not Call Registry Act. The act states; ”if a consumer asks a company not to call, the company may not call, even if there is an established business relationship” In this case there is no relationship and never was. The law goes on to say;” indeed, a company may not call a consumer - regardless of whether the consumer's number is on the registry - if the consumer has asked to be put on the company's own do not call list.” The FTC says although the law is aimed at Telemarketers, it holds true for any company who hasn’t had a relationship with you due to the fact the calls aren’t solicited, which makes the calls, de facto Telemarketing calls. To end all calls, even if you are a debtor, you must do the following: send a cease and desist letter by registered mail, then contact your state attorney general"s office, the FTC & the FCC as well as the Do Not Call Registry. If the calls continue recontact all the above and also a lawyer. Your state AG office will send out a letter as well as should your lawyer. In your Cease and Desist letter mention the phone number they are calling the acts they violate and also mention you will take them to court. List the court cases against them in Federal court which can be found at justia.com. This company has 11 federal cases against them. They have no legal right to harass you, even if you do have an outstanding debt but you must tell them in writing with a registered letter. Keep a copy of the letter for your files.
