Smithsonian Magazine Magazine subscription

I subscribed in mid november to the magazine. It was on offer for 1 year at 80% discount. It was us$19,91. I have received a tote bag about 10 days ago. I have not received any magazine. My account shows that there are 10 copies

Left on my ": subscription". My bank account was charged with nz$ 77., which was never authorised by me. Nor would I have ever agreed to pay this.

The product presented as one of quality and on the face of it in keeping with

An organisation I had held in some respect. I did no due diligence, though I now know that perhaps I should have.

I am appalled that this prima facie respectable institution, should stoop to such

Unscrupulous conduct. It reflects badly on the usa, and would not happen in new zealand.

I would be grateful for your assistance in recovering my funds, and you could perhaps warn other unsuspecting subscribers to be careful to get written

Smithsonian Magazine Unauthorized charge about unwanted renewed subscription.

I just saw today that my American Express card has been charged $39.00 by the Smithsonian Magazine and I have not authorized this payment or any subscription from them; then I suddenly remembered that I have seen unallowed charges from them before, and I carefully checked my past statements; I thus found that they indeed charged me $19.00 on June 8, 2021, and then another $29.00 on June 4, 2022. I also remembered and then found that I wrote them an email on June 4 last year, to let them know that I have neither given them permission to charge my card nor do I want any subscription or renewed subscription from them; they never replied to my email.

Thank you in advance for your help and for considering these abuses!
