Found this complaint board and I am appalled that Rene Bertrand and his partner Justin Sturby are back in Kelowna. They were here 10 years ago and scammed myself and other people out of thousands of dollars. They are both con artists - very charming and appear trustworthy. They are NOT.
A warning to anyone who hires these scam artists or who works for them...you will get very poor quality work in renovations/cleaning or whatever business they are in and they have a record of not paying their employees. They are deceitful fraudsters.

Poor people in Kelowna don't know what they're in for. He and Justin are the biggest scam artists I've ever met. Rene owes me thousands of dollars from him crappy business called "Savoir Faire Design" in Vancouver. He's nothing but scum.
I’m so saddened to hear that crook Rene has gone back into “business”. Without a doubt, Rene is the single biggest scam-artist I’ve ever come across in my lifetime. He is dishonest to his very core, a sociopath able to completely transform himself in a drop of a hat always to serve his own selfish wants and desires. If it’s true and he has this business with free access to people’s homes in Kelowna someone should notify the RCMP in order to potentially warn any would-be victims. I’ve witnessed him in action, he truly cannot help himself from being dishonest and fraudulent, he told me once that he “gets a charge out of it”, that was after he convinced an elderly woman to repaint her entire home when she was ready for a care home.
I’ll research this new company to try and determine if it’s true. His cell number used to be [protected] but I haven’t tried it in a few years, I’ll give it a shot tomorrow along with Elite Life’s number in case it’s true(hope not).
I hear you, his scruples don’t seem to exist whatsoever. Did you end up trying to call his cell phone number or elite life’s number, could you tell if he’s still “at work” or doing whatever it is he does..? Ewwww that creeps me out just thinking about hearing his whiny little voice again over the phone, gives me the heeby-jeebies lol. Could you imagine talking an old granny into painting her whole house just before she’s going into a retirement home, who on earth would do something like that..? Only a pathetic, worthless little person is capable of such despicable behaviour and that sounds exactly like something Renee would do, tsk tsk tsk…shameful.

Claim
Damages for fraudulent conveyance arising from defendant Rene Bertand’s beneficial ownership of defendant Elite Life and Home, created to allow Bertrand to earn income and avoid a $125, 000 court judgment owing to plaintiffs.
Obviously these allegations must be proven in court (unless they already have been), but it’s very troubling to see this pattern of fraudulent behaviour seemingly has continued year after year after year. Perhaps most concerning is the fact that Justin is supposed to hold a licence that supposedly requires a certain level of integrity, I guess that goes to show the REAL honest truth about realtors, in fact, with a fraudulent record like this one might fit right in as a Vancouver realtor, one could be President of the Realtor Association, they’d be proud to have such a con-artist. Wouldn’t a current employer be concerned if their employee was involved with something so questionable? What does that say about that employer? Is it possible that they’re not aware of this court action?
I can’t imagine how low you’d have to stoop to defraud a little old lady but it’s just another mark for some people, especially those who make dishonesty a way of life. I sure wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that karma train, shame on anyone who could ever do such horrific things, how would you sleep at night with all the destruction in your past and so many people after you?
Yeah him and his husband canned some of my family friends. Not good people
