Product was advertised to be a "new technology" protection finish for concrete and other surfaces- minimal preparation, quick dry, durable and on. Even with power wash, acid etch and exteme detail to preparation, paint has poor adherance and discolors easily. I have both grey and biege. The office staff failed repeatedly to provide MSDS's for the product requested by phone and in writing. They also use a gimmick to encourage additional product purchase where they tell you that you have won a great prize (a 100 watt per channel stereo with every bell and whistle imagineable- turns out to be 1 WATT per channel piece of crap that is not even worth donating to the Goodwill)and your name was selected at their company sales meeting, yada, yada. Turns out this coating is a rebrand of an Excelsior 7000 coating. These guys are deceptive at the least and crooks to be sure. This stuff is a major disappointment.

Beware of dura coat they are the worst company ever they put products that the does not call for and they are still using lead paint when they are not supposed to something they will add Chrome when it’s not called for in the paint. There employees go in to drunk or high on drugs and all that happens is that they are sent home for the day. The employees go out drinking or go get high during their breaks and lunches and there’s no consequences for them what kind of company would allow any of there employees to be careless like that to put people in danger. Who would like to do business with a company like that. There is a lot of sexual harassment going around mainly with the upper management and nothings been done about it the person who files the complaint is the person who gets terminated there is really something wrong with that picture. Put all that into consideration and that’s the reason why the paint from that company is really not good! STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!

Any luck with putting together a lawsuit? I would happily participate. It would at least stop the rude calls...

I was called on 8-10-15 same thing. I had purchased 5 gallons in 2005. The rep on the phone Chris Davis said if I didn't buy 7 more gallons my -so called account-would be red flagged and I would be charged $2500.00 plus restocking fee for product I didn't order. Every time I tried to explain to him I did not need any more product-by the way I haven't used any yet and from what others have said about it not being very good-he would talk over me and was VERY RUDE! He put me on hold said he talked to his manager and would take 2 gallons off. I again told him I don't need any more. I said let me talk to your manager. Vic DeFranco came on the phone said he would take another gallon off. Again I told him I didn't any. After going back and forth he said he was on a conference call and I had taken up enough of his time. Then Davis gets back on the phone-"Davis and DeFranco sounded like the same person"- and starts pressuring me again talking over me every time I start to talk. I have a heart condition and was so upset after the phone call I had to take a couple of nitro pills for chest pains. Something needs to be done so this won't happen to others. This is no way to sell there product by HIGH PRESSURE THREATING TACTICS.

Same as VWT above. Same phone number same BS from the man who called. Said we received 2 gallons...we received 1 gallon. Still have it unused and told caller of the product and caller said that was some other company and insisted we received 2 gallons and we were going to go to collections. When calling back the [protected] number, no one answered but I was supposed to leave a message for Cathy. Who is Cathy? Caller was a male. I hope they don't have our credit card info as he claims they do. Caller said almost the identical things said to VMT.

Protect Your Surface, INC. is at it again. I made purchases of Dura Coat in 2006 and 2007. I followed installation instructions to the letter over old concrete in good condition, and paint lifted under auto tires after several months. I dismissed it as a poor purchase of an inferior product and forgot it. Now, 8 years later, I am getting high pressure (insistant, beligerent, non-listening) phone calls threarening to "red line" my account and send my account out of their company to a billing or finance company (i, e., collection agency), unless I purchase the remainder of a 15 gallon minimum purchase (that I was never informed of). I had earlier purchased 8 gallons at about $90.00/gal. They wanted about $700.00 for the remaining 7 gallons, and if I didn't order them, the price would revert to the "original" purchase price of about $160.00/gal plus 45% restock charge which would bring the total to around $2300.00. I told him no and hung up on him. He called back and talked to my daughter and offerred to reduce the order by 2 gallons if I responded by 5:00PM EST that day. He called again later that day and tried to pressure me into an immediate order "or else". I was terrified (HaHa), and told him to do what he had to because he was not getting any more money from me for an inferior product that I did not agree to buy. This company should be prosecuted for their antics. If I didn't think it would just take more effort and frustration for me, I'd try to collect on their 15 year warrantee against "peelup, blister or lift from a properly prepared..." BEWARE of these parasites. Phone numbers associated with these calls are: [protected] ex161; [protected]. The name was Chris Davis, and he referred to James Lynch, Head of Billing.

I just received a call from this company and they tried to bully me into purchase some more of their coating products to complete the order that I made years ago. Talk about badgering, he said I was being recorded and he was trying to keep me out of collection. I told him he'll have to take me there. I called the number that he called me from, that number was not in service. I wonder why? Be careful

i purchased 6 gallons over 3 years ago for the special price of $70 per gallon. about a year later a got a call saying i still had to purchase 6 more gallons as the deal was for a total of 12 gallons, the minimum they sell. i told him i wasn't interested in purchasing anymore and did not agree to do so. thought it was resolved., but i got a call last week from Livonia, MI [protected]) and then again today demanding that i accept the next 6 gallons as agreed. i explained to both men that i did not agree to purchase anymore than 6 and had not even used it yet. the first caller said they would just send it and bill me and i told them i would refuse it and not authorize any payment. first caller attempted to get me to say i simply misunderstood the deal but i refused saying there was no such deal. the second man was even more insulting and told me he had a signed agreement - which i told him there was not way since it was a telephone call sale. He insisted the deal was explained and i misunderstood. i told him he did not participate in the original call and could not say what i was told. He put me on hold to see what he could do and then came back to me with a new deal of 3 gallons for $120 a gallon ! yeah right. i again told him i wasn't going to purchase any more of the product and he got really angry and said he would simply turn my account over to a collection company. i told him go for it and i hung up. what a jerk. would NEVER recommend this product or company.

You should be aware that I’m listed on the Do Not Call Registry and was at the time of this scam; I signed up back when the Registry was first announced years ago, and recently re-registered when informed we had to re-register. Also, I’m 69 years old, live alone, and rely on my trust funds for my fixed income monthly disbursement.Early last month, I lost $473.48 on my debit card to what I have come to believe is a phone scam. “Mick Davis, ” using the phone number with the ID of “Revival Ministries” called me on December 3rd, claiming I owed his company money — namely, $167 each, for ten cans of paint I was contracted to buy but hadn’t yet bought; therefore, he threatened to initiate an immediate collection process, something I couldn’t then afford, as I was in the middle of refinancing my home, and that would kill my credit score. “Mick Davis” called me by my name, claiming he represented a company with whom I’d done previously business, “Protect Your Surface.” He told me he already had my card number, but needed a new expiration date. He refused give me time to think, just wanted to get me to agree, so I had to make up my mind right away or face immediate collection.
Although I initially responded with, "No, thanks, " and “I want to talk to my attorney about this matter first, ” I was pressured, insulted, cajoled, and threatened into to giving up my debit card’s expiration date, under the threat of an immediate collection if I refused to co-operate.
However, barely an hour later, I tried to call back to cancel his deal. Unfortunately, the phone ID proved to be bogus, and I immediately reported the situation to my VISA card issuer. April identified the pending transaction as #XXXXXXXX to “Industrial Services, ” (not “Revival Ministries”) before transferring me to Kishana, who issued claim number XXXXXXXX. She suggested I change my debit card immediately, and within the next hour I did so with Matt Sorrells, a Personal Banker at the local Belair Road office. When my “order, ” tracking number XXXXXXXXX, arrived at my door via UPS on Wednesday, the 5th, I was absent; however, I refused the delivery promptly at the Mixon Court UPS center, and the package was returned unopened to the shipper in Farmingdale NY, arriving on Friday, the 11th. Finally, just this afternoon, January 25, 2013, I’ve been able to track down both of my original receipts from 2006 and 2008 from “Protect Your Surface, ” which reveal no intention or obligation on my part to fulfill any contract involving the purchase of a dozen gallons of paint at $167 each.

Same thing happened to me in 2005. I made a report to the BBB, which seems not to have done any good at all. I just received a call from 'Frank' who told my wife that he knew me. When I told him I wasn't happy with the product he said it was the best on the market. I mentioned the partial label on the can and asked what ingredients are in the stuff. He hung up. Good riddance.

Here is my experience with the Duracoat Product. I sent in a card that came in one of those packets you get in the mail. They called me and I purchased 4 gal in 2007 for $70/gal. It was applied to according to instructions on the can. It does not fill cracks as you would are led to believe. It is a very thin, water-like product. Very strong odor during and after application. It dries to the touch in 24 Hrs, but when you walk on it it has a "sticky" feel for a few days. After your vehicle is parked on it overnight, black tire marks where the tires were. I live in the northeast and when you walk on it with wet or snow on shoes, it is VERY slippery. Sometimes, if you have a puddle of water from snow or rain on the vehicle, the paint will blister off the floor. It did hold up to oil drippings well. It makes the floor look beautiful and clean when first done. They called in 2011 and tried the buy more routine but when I told the caller how dissatisfied I was with the product he hung up on me! I had two gallons left and I just prepped and applied it last week. I parked the van in the garage last night, and this AM... black tire marks. Overall you could do just as well for a lot less money at Home Depot.

I just got the same scam. I'd bought 2 gallons about 3 years back. I'd also had the call with the "you won a radio" offer (which I didn't take them up on) and the offer to sell me cleaning solvents for pre-application surface treatment. Now it was "Mike Alan" the (alleged) CFO (since when do CFOs make collection calls?), claiming we'd bought a ten-galons-two-free deal at pennies under $100/gallon and they'd been trying to contact us about when to ship the rest, having sent us three hardcopy demands (first of them last October). My wife and I had not seen any such mail. Told him no way I'd pay for more. Offered to send back the product (which we hadn't applied yet) for a refund and he refused. He threatened collection action and I told him to go ahead and I'd take him to court. Caller ID says [protected] with LOUISIANA as the name of the caller - but that can be spoofed. Trying the number gets a "number not in service" recording so it probably is spoofed. (The 337 area code IS southwestern Louisiana, so that might have been filled in by the telco from the apparently faked number).

I tried to contact the company to find out if this was really from them. I found that the 800 number on the can was disconnected. I also found and contacted a DIFFERENT company, called "DURA-COTE" (duracotefloors.com in Cumberland NC), which makes and applies (but doesn't sell retail) an epoxy floor coating. Given the reports here I'm wondering if the whole company was ALWAYS a scam, selling a cheap product repackaged under a name designed to take advantage of this other company's reputation.

Mike Allen, an individual claiming to be the CFO of Dura-Coat just called us at approximately 1:50 PM (PDT) today and insisted that our paid for order of two cans of this garbage three years ago was actually an order of 10 gallons, with 2 gallons free, and they had supposedly been attempting to contact us all this time to ship the remaining eight gallons and complete payment. I am really tempted to have a nice discussion with this guy; it sounds like another Traveller scam, brought to you by the same folks who go door to door offering to paint houses for just the cost of the paint.

So glad to find these folks have had the same story I've been receiving. This is a scam--how do we get back at them? Not sure contact with BBB will help. Seems they just keep moving/changing numbers and names. Next time I'm gonna "go pick up a 100 gal" if they will meet me someplace. I'm now surprised I even got the initial shipment of "worthless paint'". I'm going to Lowe's or Home Depot and get their product next time. DO NOT! give these bums (nicest thing I could say) any orders or credit card numbers.

Well, I started get these harassing phone calls last month. June 2012. The same spill...I bought 5 or 6 gallons back in 2008. Paid for and done. Then out of the blue I get a phone call from an Oscar Santiago [protected] telling me that I did not fulfill my 36 month contract and I needed to buy 6 more gallons or I would be turned over to collections? I told him I never had a contract to fulfill, I bought and paid for what I ordered and I owed him no more money and told him NOT to send any more of this paint to my house. He made several threats to me, telling me that I did not want to go down this road... blah blah blah. I told him NOT to call my house anymore and I hung up. He called back over 6 times letting the phone ring as I would not answer. Finally on the 6th call my husband answered and let's just say, my husband wasn't nice at all to him, even though he still threatened to have collections call us. That was in June. Today July 9 2012 I received yet another call from this idiot. This time it is showing up from an Ohio number [protected]. As soon as I answered he started speaking about the paint again, I told him to loose my number and not call back, then I hung up. He repeatedly called back 3 times, yet I did not answer. Later this afternoon, he called again. I was not at home so my husband answered th phone and told him, once again, not to call back. This is totally ridiculous! I am now in the process of having all phone calls traced. I have had enough of this idiot and plan to file harrassment charges. I too will also be contacting the BBB.

Yes, the same thing has happened to us with this company. Someone named Mike called my father-in-law today, but his caregiver gave Mike our number as my Father in law is in ill health. Long story short, Mike became very aggressive when we asked him for proof of this "verbal agreement" and said he would turn us over to collections since we a trustee's for my father in law. I will most likely have our family attorney handle this from here as this company has been emotionally disstressing for us and they have no grounds for collective action.

Do not do business with them.

I received a threatening & harassing call today from a scammer who identified himself as "Mack Davis" from a company I had ordered 2 cans of garage floor paint from in April of 2008. The call was from [protected]. ( Orleans, MA) He very reluctantly told me the name of the company was Industrial Supply. He also refused to give me a web site to look up online.

He told me that the minimum number of gallons was 10, and that I had been given 24 months to fulfill and pay for that amount. He said that if I didn't give him a new credit card number TODAY, I would be "in default" for the full price of the additional 8 gallons, which was $2012.56! He then said that if I apologized to him for my "attitude", he would tell the Shipping Department that I had "forgotten or had not understood" the contract or my obligation, and they MIGHT give me a "Hardship Grievance" so that I would only have to pay for 4 of the 8 additional gallons. I would then ONLY be charged $444.05.
(I don't understand how that mathematically makes sense, but NONE of the spiel makes sense.) He repeatedly refused to send or fax me a copy of the agreement.

I agree that the product was very poor quality. It began to peel in less than a year. When I mentioned that fact to him, he said that I must have "applied it incorrectly & why had I not told the company before?". I told him that I applied it exactly according to the directions sent with the product. He then called me a liar! I had tried to complain before. First, I left a message and got no return call. When I tried to call again, the number had been disconnected.

Unfortunately, I put up with this abuse and harassment for 26 minutes. He kept calling me back. I am going to report this to the Better Business Bureau tomorrow. I would be interested to hear of any others who were subjected to this ever actually experienced any credit issues as a result of this

I just received a similar call from Industrial State Supply/Protect Your Surface/Dura-Coat as everseek. A Bob Washington who said he was the "senior finance officer" said that my 36 month contract was past due on my order of 12 gal of dura-coat. I told him I never ordered 12 gal but only 2 gallons from 07 in gray and 1 gal in 09 for terracotta and that is all. He was very convincing and said if I didn't pay for the bal of the order he would send me to collections. However he put me on hold to talk to his boss, then came back on the line and said that he could close out the account if I agreed to 2 gal. We argued over that and I settled for 1 gal. Then i saw this site and read all of your comments and knew I had been scammed. I researched my purchases and found that the original order and invoice and no where did it say I committed to 12 gallons on either order. I called the number that Bob gave me, ( it worked ) and talked to a Susan Lombard, told her my story, and low and behold she had the authority to close out my account without me purchasing anything. I still am calling my credit card company and putting a stop payment on the transaction as I do not trust anyone at this company.

I purchased pys epoxy in may of 2006 and was called 4-9-2012 to purchase 7more gallons to fulfill my 10gallon non existing contract. I only had ordered 3. told him no and hung up. He called right back and said by hanging up would not solve the problem. He said I must not of understood the deal and that he wold call the warehouse and see what he could do. put me on hold for a moment and came back and said since I had not understood the agreement that I only had to take 4 gallons. I said no. He said if I have to put a zero on that line YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD. WOW sounds like threat to me. I told him that he is not going to want to go down the road that I am going to take him. I became verbally abusive at that point and hung up. Next day 4-10-12 called credit card company and warned of a possible unauthorized charge. Tried to call pys from the caller id but it was not a working number . Imagine that. BEWARE

Whew.. that was one stressful phone call I just received from "Dura-coat". I got the same spiel as you folks where they said I was obligated to 12 gallons of the product when I had already purchased 4 gallons, 4 years ago. Their rep was very convincing - so much so that I'm still not sure if I was being scammed or if it's being sent to collections. When they called they said I owed for 8 gallons ($800). We talked for awhile because I was so confused about it and no idea what they were talking about and certainly didn't remember agreeing to a 12 gallon contract. I was told that they had the original call recorded, as well as a signed agreement, but when I asked if they would email or send me the agreement they refused. I said that I wanted to hang up and call them back to verify that it wasn't a scam so he said to go ahead and call the number he gave me. I called the phone number on the original invoice, which was different from the one he gave me and it was disconnected. It wasn't until the end of the call when I found this website and I told the rep that I see they are doing this to other people, that they finally said they are going to close out the account. I'm blown away at how convincing they were. After the call, I googled the phone number that the "senior finance officer" gave me and it does link to a dura-coat selling company, but this is apparently at least the 3rd incarnation of the company. They were called PYS in 2006, Dura-Coat after that (according to a complaint listed above) and now ISS - Industrial State Supply (according to the googled phone number).
I too, will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. That was just crazy.

I got a call this morning from a Missouri # 417.520.1272. The man said I had contracted to buy 12 gallons of Dura Coat in 2007 and had only taken delivery on two. When I told him that the product was still on the shelf, he told me that I have to pay for the rest of my "committment" or it would be "default" He also said they have a MC autopay on me. I told him to fax me all the records and that I would look at them, but he refused. I went to look at the box the paint is still in and it has a 2006 ship date. I tried to call the company on the shipping label, but the # has been disconnected. This is obviously a bad company. My next call will be to the BBB.

We are a church in Indiana who got the same spiel about having a contract, must buy more etc. etc. etc. We bought 16 gallons of dura-coat paint from Protect Your Surface based in Ohio and they tried to say that we signed a contract for 40 gallons at a "special price" and if we did not purchase the remaining 24 gallons we would be charged another $189 dollars a gallon for our first purchase. When we refused, they tried to offer us a farm supply credit instead of receiving the paint (yea right!). They tried calling multiple times, but we would not budge and we are contacting our credit card company to make sure that they do not try to charge us. (They had our credit card information on file).

I received a call from a James Lynch (Phone #[protected]) and he said that I had a "contract" to buy more of their Dura-Coat product. When I told him I had no contract with the company he started getting nasty and started saying he would take me to collections (try it buddy!) and that he would contact my state (Huh?), and after telling him I would refuse the product if it was shipped to me, I hung the phone up. He then proceeded to call me back (I have caller ID), and I picked up and then hung up. Well, I contacted my attorney who wants to know if there is anyone else in New Jersey who has had a bad experience with this Dura-Coat product or the TFS (The Farm Supply) company. He wants to pursue a class action lawsuit to stop these people from harassing innocent people and scamming them.

I purchased 6 gal 3 years ago.The product said Dura-coat on the cans and was purchased from Protect Your Surface.I was assured this was the end all of outside concrete finishes.Within a year the product started peeling and now there is no evidence the coating was applied.Recently I received a phone call from a VA phone number stating I am obligated by a signed invoice from 3 years ago to buy 6 more gal @$165/gal or I will be sent to collections. The call came @ 7:30pm and sounded like a hard sale from a mob boss. They stated Protect Your Surface is now T.F.S. ?. I just got a phone call from Dura-coat for concrete floors saying that I had to order another 3 gal. of their product because I had purchased 3 gal 3 years ago at a "special price" that was only available for a complusive 6 gal. order according to them. This is bull*%! They then said that if I didn't order 3 more gal that I would be charged more money for my initial order. If I didn't pay it they were going to have a collection agency after me. Do not order anything from this company. They use to be based in Lindenhurst, NJ but are now in Gurnee, IL. Their web site is now dura-coat.com. instead of protectyoursurface.com . They are ###.

I bought their product and have never applied it. they started harassing us about using their cleaners and preparations before we put it down, insistent phone calls how we should purchase these products also, we told them never to call again. Got a call today, three years later, telling us we had price protection on another $1600 worth of stuff and now we have to buy that or it goes to collections. I told them no way am I sending more money. We'll see what happens next. Major crooks.

I have also purchased this product and agree this is the worst paint for concrete floors. I painted my garage floor and within two months it began to peel up and chip. There guarentee is worthless since they NEVER respond to telephone messages or emails. They even wont respond to the Better Business Bureau. You are better off buying concrete paint at Lowes or HomeDepot for 1/8 of the price!

I purchased this product and am totally disappointed in it. I received the phone call saying that I was selected to receive a special promo price on the product. What a load of crap, this company should no longer be in business. I have repeatedly called them and left messages, they have not returned any of my phone calls. I put the product on just a year ago and now have to do it again. I not only have a thousand dollars invested in this product but also my time and labor of applying the stuff. It will now even be more work as the crap is pealing and discolored and will take much more work preparing the surface to put down an actual legitimate product. If you are thinking of purchasing this product don't, save yourself some time, money and definitely aggravation. I consider them thieves and they should be stopped.
