I hired Phoenix financial group and it is a scam. My business owed some money to the IRS and I got a call from Phoenix Financial. The sales guys guaranteed me that me that my tax problems will be resolved if i gave them some money. Then after a while, the IRS decided to go after my personal assets, including my bank accounts etc. Phoenix then told me that if i wanted personal representation, then i would have to pay an additional fee. Later on I found out that the IRS always goes after people's personal assets when taxes are owed. Phoenix is a scam and will inevitably ask you for more money for something they knew about when they first guaranteed you that all your tax problems would be solved. Dont let them do the same thing to you.

I have worked for several of these companies over the past ten years and have the inside scoop on all the major tax resolution companies in Colorado. I am currently working with several state AG's and have shared my stories with a Federal Marshall. For the 411 on these companies:

If you truly want to get your issue resolved, maybe you should talk to the company. I hired Phoenix two years ago and they were prompt and very professional. They worked very hard to keep the IRS from assessing me personally but ultimately, I could not pay it fast enough so the IRS had to assess me personally. I was told this upfront, there was a possibility of additional fees if there was additional work and I understand that my personal situation was separate from my business.
Additionally, Phoenix was not the first company that I hired to do this, the first company I hired re-billed me twice in the first 60 days and hadn't done anything. Although I don't want to drop names, it is a buyer beware market, but there is real help out there and Phoenix provided me that real assistance. It wouldn't surprise me if the above complaint wasn't written by one of the less than ethical companies in that industry, if you really were a client, why wouldn't you address this with the company or state who you are? I found them to be very receptive to my needs and questions.
You should really take a class and educate yourself on owning a business. When you owe taxes on your business they cannot come after you personally, depending on the tax. When you have employees and you withhold the normal employee withholdings from their paycheck and don't pay the proper taxing authorities (i.e.: social security and Medicare) they can come after you personally for that portion. It is considered stealing, or an unauthorized loan. Its called trust fund. You withhold money from your employees check and hold it in trust to pay to the proper entities. You absolutely should have to pay extra money for that, which is an entirely different situation. This requires separate paperwork, and additional negotiation. When you owe the IRS corporate income tax that is one thing but when you owe withholding aka trust fund that is another. You are lucky that I’ am not the person who you withheld money from and neglected to pay it into the system that I may need someday. So shame on you.
Phoenix wanted $1000 to do the job. I made installment payments. As soon as it was paid off, they found a reason to ask for another $1500, which I paid. Once that was paid off, they asked for $2000 more. At that point I fired them and am working directly with the IRS myself. They messed up a lot, which is why it wasn't resolved, and blamed me so they could charge more. Stay away from this company - they are crooked.
