Perpay Inc. is a lifesaver for folks who may have made a few mistakes with their finances in the past. As a previous victim of financial struggles, I'm happy to say that PerPay has allowed me to regain some fiscal responsibility while treating myself to new, great items without having to wait to pay for them upfront. One unique aspect of Perpay is the ability to purchase items like you would on a layaway program; however, instead of the items collecting dust in the back bin of a store, they'll ship to you promptly upon arrival. They carry high-end and big brand name products and typically order them from reputable stores like Best Buy. Although for some items, they rely on a 3rd party fulfillment center with questionable storage and shipping procedures. Still, overall, it's not a deal-breaker for me.

While I understand that Perpay needs to make their money, I must note that their pricing is a bit higher than what you would see in-store or from other retailers. They tend to overprice their items by about 30-50%, and even with the shipping cost (which is applicable even for purchases of multiple items in a single order), it can add up. Yet, they are floating the cost of the items upfront - so it makes sense that they would need to make a profit somehow.

The site itself tends to be slow and limited, usually having only one image of the item. While the description may be present, it can often be ripped directly from the site they're ordering from. For instance, think of the item description from Best Buy, smooshed into a single paragraph on their site. I've found myself having to locate the item on other websites to get a better understanding of the product through detailed descriptions and videos. Unfortunately, even the Perpay app is a slower mobile version of their website.

I must note that customer service is something Perpay needs to improve upon. They are quite slow in responding and take many days to reply. Many times, you may not get a response even after responding immediately to an email within 24 hours, and conversations tend to take days or even weeks for a resolution. Despite these concerns, I must say that they have done right by me on multiple occasions. I had a damaged in-transit item that they promptly replaced, and the replacement arrived within 48 hours. However, items from third-party vendors tend to come damaged, and even replacements are cosmetically affected. Yet, they still made it right by delivering replacement items with minimal fuss. Returns can be tricky, and I understand why - they are trying to hold 3rd party vendors accountable. Unfortunately, the 3rd party vendors don't always comply, making the process challenging and requiring the customer to play middle man.

Even with all of the issues mentioned, I believe PerPay offers a unique service that helped me get the items I wanted or needed promptly and efficiently. I've been using them for over a year now, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon - their convenience has helped me immensely. While it's not perfect, I still recommend giving it a try if you're in a sticky financial situation or want to treat yourself without paying the total upfront.
