I have been trying to get a hold of my case worker, unsuccessfully for 2 months now. I have a 4, 733.80 overpayment/credit on my favor after fighting the ex in court to get the overpayment credit for the past 7 years and even though it is court ordered that the probation department give me credit for the overpayment made to my ex... It is still to be done... The only thing they did was place the amount of credit in parenthesis on the acct information... That is it! Meanwhile I am still paying my regular amount of 250 a wk...
Why are the fathers treated like # and why is it so hard to reach anyone! Phone calls, letters, faxes nothing works.. It's like they see the letters or your number on the phone and they just ignore or throw the letter away!
But if you are paying and you miss one payment all hell breaks loose, your check is garnished, your license suspended, etc...

Im having the same issue my child support was terminated and they refuse to stop the garnishment of my paycheck. The last court case i had the judge ordered that child support was suppose to do an audit of my account to determine how much I truly owe in arrears because child support would put two payments a month in arrears since it was ordered weekly deduction and i get paid biweekly. SO my account is totally screwed up. Im sick of this backwards system. There is no one i can call or anyone to help me fix this without having to hire a lawyer or filing for a new court hearing. But yet when i was sick and unable to pay my kids mother was able to contact someone quickly. And when you do get a hold of someone they have an attitude cause your bothering them. Fathers in NJ need to come together and file a class action against this bull.

Geez glad Im not the only onelolz..my kids father been paying his support since day one. for the last year I have been not receiving it, come to find out there was another case from years ago with his name on it, could have been a mix up they said. Long story short, I have to call them everytime Im suppose to receive the support until they fix the other case. The lady said it would be about 60 days before the other acct is completely closed, Ummm its been like 6 months now. I call down there and never hear back from them, I literally go down everytime Im suppose to receive support so that they can transfer from the old case to the new case..its exhausting and luckily I live 5 minutes away but its still not right that I have to go down there every two weeks to do this. New phone numbers now and everything is automated and there is not a human that can take my call, why do we have case workers if we cant get a hold of them. Pasaaic County Child Support or NJ for that matter s*cks!

I admire both of you paying your child support. My ex rarely to never has paid child support in 7 years and Passaic County does absolutely nothing. No one picks up a phone and if they do - no one follows through. I am going to try both of your suggestions for my side of the fence. Donna Levine

If you are a father The system is out for you ! reguardless if the mother is overpaid : You still have to obtain a lawyer to prove it and get reciepts for all those years to present to the court ! the arrears in my case kept climbing after she was recieving 1, 000 a month for a number of years and nothing was said for 10 years! But once that finally stopped after 2 years after amancipation the warrants. Came out without reguard of consulting my proof of innocents she was double dipping and have to fight like hell to prove it Glen Millner

call the judges chambers and tell them that the probation dept has failed to follow the courts order >>>>>>>>>>>>>> also send the judge himself a certified letter saying the same thing A judge can stand someone not following his orders!

omg, we are having the same problem! still haven't received credit and now my son will be 20 yrs old so last year she sent out an emancipation /update review giving her 30 days to respond if son is in school. never heard from her meanwhile still paying. i called in october 2010 and she sent another. i didnt hear from her so she said call back in another month! what? meanwhile i tried to emancipate through court but do not have ex address, she keeps moving around so all papers sent back from the court because undeliverable to her as she moved. such bull! now the longer this probation officer blows me off the more money i am out because it goes from my check to a nice convienient direct deposit to ex! tomorrow i will be calling AOC in trenton. supposed to be a customer service for probation, we'll see. i feel discriminated because i am not a minority
