I was reading the news on a local radio station's website one afternoon. Then I came across an advertisemnet on the station's website. As I remebered it, there was a story about a lady in town that was making a lot of money. The site just kept braging on and on. I ignored the stories, but when I came across the "decision package" it was only $9.95 for shippong and handiling and you would be charged $39.95 after two weaks if you did not return it. That raised a big red flag at the beginning. I decided to go for it anyways since it wasn't a lot of money. I did get a call from my coach and I decided to give this business a try.
I then preceded. She tried to convince me in buying the "International Business Package" instead of the "Mini Package". I purchased the International Business Package since I recieved a bounus from my company. The support I got from my coach was like an education of a 5th grader. I asked her about returning the decision package and the could not even tell me where to send it to. I had to keep interupting her stories about how much money she was making. She said "we'll talk about it later". I said I wanted to talk about it now. Then she replied, you can give it to a "friend". I kept the package any way.
What got my attention to this business is that it was an "online business". You don't need to have inventory you just sell of the website. Her upline Cynthia Robinson pressured me in having $700 worth of inventory. I told her I wasn't gong to spend that amount and she kept pushing. I have never been asked by some idiot to get a loan from my parents. It was all the stupid questions like "are you close to your parents". I told her no and nothing more since it was none of her business.
I was advertising in the local papers, flyers on bullitin board even cars not to mention. I made 600 flyers at a time for about 1 month. Even on Craigs List, e-mail and Google. I forgot to mention other internet classifieds. I was getting hits on the website but no one was ordering. With all the advertising I was doing, I began to wonder why no one was interested. First of all the products are priced to high. They are really expensive. You can get the same stuff at GNC and Wal-Mart much cheaper.
I was in a conference call from my coach and Cynthia Robinson. Cynthia suggested me to put the catalogues in the break room at my company, which I did. Then she kept on pressuring me to keep naging my coeworkers. She made it sound like I was very ###ed and that I didn't inspire them. This call kept on going and going. I got to the point where I just hanged up on her. I was not going to be treated like a two year old.
To sum it all up, If these products sell well they should sell of the website, right? They didn't. I was only in the business for 5 months. I did not buy any inventory. I am not stupid like they think I am. I don't waste my time on products that don't sell well and the support you get you might ask a 2 year old. The coaches act brainwashed they don't know any thing about the health and nutrition industry. They think they do. They just pressure you and talk nonsense. This business is a waste of time and money in the long run.
I have been reading complaints on other compaint boards and it is always the same complaints. Run away from this one.

Requested and received a CD about home business. Paid $9.95 for it. Sent immediately back via registered mail saying did not want and to NOT charge the $39.95 additional charge. This was sent on 06/01/09.

Today, 10/09/09, received an email from Jeffrey James @theonlinebusinessnews.com that our 15 day trial was over and we were going to be charged $39.95.

Sent them immediately a copy of original cancellation letter via email.

Just received an email from gateway@linkpt.net saying the $39.95 had been charged to my CC.

Can NOT contact Linkpt so sent a copy to Jeffrey James.

My name is Jason Fisher and I am a former “International Millionaire Team Member" of Herbalife…

Read my story below or watch my quick video:

http://www.viddler.com/v/306f9a2c

I was only 19 years old when I became a Mill Team Member. I made an incredible income and changed many people’s lives during my years at Herbalife. I had an organization of 1000’s of customers and distributors ordering monthly… but I resigned after 11 years back in 2006 with only had 56 people on my business report that were actively ordering. My income dropped to $1, 000/month. I lost my beautiful million dollar waterfront home where I moved my mother, father and sister in with me.

What I found was 95% of the customers didn’t order long term as well as the distributors that were promoting the products themselves!
Distributors that were doing online lead generation had excessive expenses from advertising, web sites, leads, merchant accounts, stocking, selling, delivering and accounts payable/receivables.

The new way of building the business has people accumulating massive debt from nutrition club expenses (rent/electric/tons of shakes and tea samples/heat/AC/store renovation). Let’s not forget WHY we joined this business in this first place, to create LIFELONG RESIDUAL INCOME… not to be spending our time running a storefront with lots of expenses. If you’re going to do that, why not just open a traditional style business.

Many Get Team, Mill Team and Pres Team including myself were unable to replace the 95% of customers and distributors that were leaving at the same rate in which new people were joining.

Because of the horrible attrition, we were no longer able to maintain our current status within the company… and a decision had to be made. We needed to find a business where the MASSES were winning and 95% were ordering month to month long term (both customers & business partners).

I found an opportunity, along with many of the top 1% distributors (Get Team, Mill Team, Pres Team), that has provided success not only for us… but for the MASSES too. We are finally winning and truly enjoying what this industry is supposed to be about.

If your Herbalife business is doing well, this message was not intended to disrupt that…

However, if you are tired of constantly replacing people over and over again, struggling just to maintain your organizational volume, just like we all were…and you want to find out what we’re all doing to provide for our families with a business model that starts each month off with 95% of the volume that we had from the previous month, please send me a message with your contact information and the best time to call you. I will go over everything that we have learned and implemented.

I agree with Caravan2734. It's a shame we got sucked into this pyramid scheme just to line the pockets of the top 1%. I was also under Cynthia Robinson, and she always seemed to mention her being a Christian. See is nothing but a greedy cold-hearted snake who demeans people and does treat them like they're 2 years old! I did try the products-All of them, and myself and husband worked the plan consistently only to end up disappointed and taken. I no longer are involved in MLM's (pyramids) Take a look at this site to see how your scheme is rated: http://mlm-thetruth.com/evaluating-mlms/5step-eval I answered yes to all 2 questions for Herbalife: endless chains of recruitment, advancement by recruitment, "pay to play" purchases, the upline gets most of the rewards, and 5 or more levels in the compensation plan. I wish the truth would catch up with Cynthia Robinson, but in the end...it finally will. That's something she will have to endure.

Yes I too have ended up $6000+ out of pocket . The product did not work for me AND I was pressured to buy more for points. The teaching from Unitedonlinebusiness was get selling now even though you had no idea and had not finished the induction.
Got no where with any of the very expensive leads and walked for kms filling letter boxes. As I don't intend to waste anymore time and money I have fallen foul of my recruiter who is now asking for the gift of 1 lead at $120 that she gave to me, (at her instigation ) to be paid back! using the Unitedonline decision package s which are not free.
A very slippery business.

I have just signed up to do this business myself but made it clear that it is only part time. All I hear from the webinars and the 'step by step' coaching sessions are how successful everyone on it is and how they sell so many. My own coach is now hinting I should go straight to ordering supervisors stock which is over $6, 500 just to get the volumn points. I have yet to learn from the 'system' on how to market and sell the products. I am halfway through the online coaching and most of it so far is more and more stories of successful distributors but still nothing about how to sell the products. I made it clear that I do not want to be pressuring friends to buy off me and they assure me the products will sell by advertising on the various websites they have. I have yet to learn how to advertised on these 'various websites'. Lots of talk about being successful but nothing about how to actually sell the products.

85% of herbalife profit goes to 1% of the stakeholders...the other 15% is distributed to the other 99%...!Simple math, simple company, simple products...simply a RIP off! And let's NOT FORGET...the founder of the company overdosed on Alcohol and antidepressants at age 44! MUST BE A GREAT PRODUCT!

By reading your "complaint", I was wondering a bunch of things. First off, I am in the Network Marketing - MLM field online and have been for a while. One thing I learned very early is that you never "try" a business. You either go at it full or do not do it at all. Next, I know the Herbalife products well and they are exceptional. Question: Were you taking the products at all? If not, how can you sell something that you have not tried and know nothing about? Not surprising that you were unsuccessful. Pure business common sense to touch, feel, taste, experience what it is that you are marketing. I have a feeling this is what Cynthia Robinson was trying to get you to do, and was not "pressuring" you into something that was not going to help with your business. Online Business Systems structure is such that the coach does not profit unless the person they sponsored is successful. Again, only business common sense to help you to succeed. Your concept on the pricing issue would not have helped you either. Obviously you were comparing no-name products full of chemicals to specially formulated ones that are good for the body. You cannot buy these types of products from GNC or Wal-Mart. You said the your coaches knew nothing about the Health and Wellness industry, but judging by your comments, you know less. I do not mean to be harsh, however from what I see, you are blaming everyone but yourself for this failure.

By "trying" the business, you were bound to fail as you did not have the winning attitude. By not using the products yourself, you were bound to fail as you could not give anyone a personal testimony of them. By not listening to your coaches or following the business plan, you were bound to fail. I see a pattern here, does anyone else?
