OB-GYN DR SEGAL
http://www.womenscarefl.com/

Dr. Kristen Helm Segall from Generations Ob-GYN, Women’s Care Florida (formerly known as Drs. Dillon, McNulty, Qureshi, Segall, Ashby & Patrick in Wesley Chapel) was my OB-GYN doctor for over 5 years while living in Tampa Florida. I decided to write this review in order to warn people about the lack of care that I experienced while she was my doctor.
Every time I went into her office, she never really took the time to talk with me and explain me much about my PAP results. I actually got to speak more with the nurse than with her. She always seemed irritated when I asked her questions, and she always wanted to get out of the consultation room as soon as possible, without much explanation about anything.

Her lack of professionalism was staggering, considering the fact that she gave me wrong referrals and made me pay for things I actually did not need to pay, as a result of her introducing wrong codes for the billing department. When I asked her to modify the referral and fix the billing issue, she became very angry, making me feel like these were my mistakes, instead of hers. Her attitude towards me also changed, and I was treated very coldly, almost with disgust.

The worst part of it all was the fact that she recommended a very invasive form of treatment for an issue I went to her office to receive treatment for. She convinced me that in my case the best way to proceed with treatment is to have this invasive surgery done, even though this procedure would have resulted in the removal of a part of my uterus, as well as the thinning of the uterus wall (which is not the ideal situation for a person that intends to have children in the future).

I already had doubts in my heart that this surgery is the right thing to do, so I went for a second opinion to another doctor. I was shocked to find out that there was nothing abnormal going on with me, the tests results came back negative, and the new doctor informed me that there was no need for any type of surgery, much less the one Dr. Kirsten Segall recommended to me. This doctor was very surprised about the invasive procedure that Dr. Kirsten Segall recommended me for my situation. I was in shock and awe that I actually decided to repeat the tests twice in the new doctor’s office, to make sure that everything is indeed ok with me. The second tests also came back normal. I also want to mention that the cost of the procedure that Dr. Kirsten Segall suggested for me to have done would have been almost 2, 000 dollars, and she actually called me back when she did notice that I did not come in for the surgery, to inform me that she cares about my health and that I needed to have this surgery done right away (without even re-testing me for anything).

Patients, be aware about this doctor and if you want to not have procedures done that you actually may not need, or if you want to get someone to talk to you about your health, treat you with respect and dignity, do yourself a favor and find another doctor! In my opinion, Dr. Kirsten Segall is not the OB-GYN doctor that you should see, if you care about your health.
