My Gibson compressor in my HVAC unit went out while under warranty. When I contacted Nordyne they referred me to their distributor, Associate Refrigeration, Inc. 1625 Hylton Rd, Pennsauken, NJ. They provided my contractor with a replacement compressor after asking him many questions about his business. The replacement compressor was dead on arrival and did not work either. They said to rectify the situation my contractor would have to open an account with Associate Refrigeration, buy a new compressor, file a claim on the replacement compressor, if the claim is approved then he would be given store credit. Ultimately I would be the one paying for the compressor. What kind of scam is this?! Nordyne and Associate Refrigeration were both rude and disrespectful to me. Associate Refrigeration suggested it would be best if I "took my business elsewhere". How awful and unprofessional. I will NEVER do any business with either company and will tell everyone I know of this awful experience. No more Gibson products for me.

Slowwww shipment of warranty parts

It's 2 weeks since claim has been put in. The company acknowledges their warranty responsibility but will not provide any information regarding time of shipment.
Will keep you posted for developments.

Associate Refrigeration was good enough to give the contractor the first replacement compressor. When the contractor called and told us that the compressor did not work (at installation). We told them that they needed to pay for the replacement compressor and we would give them credit when we received credit from Nordyne. We told the home owner that compressors are not normally bad out of the box and Copeland might want the compressor back for testing. If it is found that the compressor was not installed properly then the warranty would be denied. We explained this to the home owner and she told me that she would take her business else where.
