We contacted a long distance moving group: New Leaf Moving Group (975 Gateway Blvd; 33426) in early May (5/4/2022) about moving items from our home in Richfield, Ohio to our son's residence in Orono, ME. Communication seemed very good - I have no less than 12 emails (saved) in addition to phone calls from 5/4 to 5/6 getting specifics. This group is an intermediary - hiring out local movers to assist in the transport of the household. This move was planned for July, since the occupation of the residence in Maine was to commence 7/1/2022.

We were warned up front that the move would be a minimum of 10-14 days, but not longer than 2-3 weeks (the disclaimer included Covid, gas, supply chain, blah, blah, blah...). I noted that as long as it was not a month, that would certainly be acceptable. I did not understand that the clock did not start ticking from the date of pick up (7/2/22), but rather from the date we designated for delivery (delivery 7/5/22) - my bad, and that was still fine. The fine print from New Leaf states 30 days. We are at 30 days as of 7/30/22. The company has shunted and avoided our calls. Late last week I was able to get a number to contact the local mover (which I thought was different from the one I had) - with a phone tree and automatic hang up before you can leave a message.

Our contact was Brian Kelly phone [protected]; email: [protected]@new leaf moving group.com. Our tracking # N6270826

Desired outcome: We would like to see our son's furniture, clothing, and household items actually delivered.

I have called Best Price recurrently, and most times get a ring, an answering machine, and no way to leave any message with termination of the call on their end. Today 7/27/2022, I got through a phone tree, spoke to a person, who immediately shunted me to the voice mail of a person named Mary. I left an extensive message with the pertinent information. This same Mary has been avoiding calls from my son on the receiving end, who had just been trying to get an estimated date of delivery (obviously work needs notification that he has to be off). Last week, a message was left suggesting delivery for Friday 7/22; then canceled within less than 24 hours, and estimated delivery date rescheduled Tuesday or Wednesday 7/26 or 7/27/22.

We have yet to receive any of our property, get an updated call or e-mail, and the company is shunting and avoiding our calls. I had suspected they recognized my cell, and that was the reason for not answering, and the inability to leave a message. Today I used a number from my office, and I actually got into the phone tree and spoke to someone for 10 seconds. This ability to get through with a new number only further supported my conviction that the company will not answer me or my son b/c they recognize the numbers.

Note that a separate complaint was placed regarding the originating company New Leaf Movers with their details. Delays are understood, and certainly frustrating, but the lack of communication from a business that charged >$3000 for a long distance move is problematic. If I have blocked other customers from using these entities, I will feel satisfied that I warned some other victim to avoid this.
